A 2021 survey found that 42% of consumers didnt know Lays were made out of the spuds.
Are Milk Duds not made from expired milk?Starlites not from starlight?
Pumpkin spice latte doesn't have any pumpkin in it.
Pumpkin spice latte doesn't have any pumpkin in it.neither does pumpkin pie, a lot of the time.
From the country that brought you Donald Trump !
To be fair it's also the country that sells "Maple Syrup" containing 0% maple syrup.
I can understand some scepticism.
I'm extremely curious what they thought they were made of insteadI would guess they think they're made of some godawful blend of processed starch and sawdust.
Pumpkin spice latte doesn't have any pumpkin in it.I don't know how this rumor got started but it's not true. Pumpkin spice flavored stuff has pumpkin and spice in it, including lattes.
I don't know how this rumor got started but it's not true. Pumpkin spice flavored stuff has pumpkin and spice in it, including lattes. It has pumpkin spice, I'm pretty sure it lacks pumpkin
It has pumpkin spice, I'm pretty sure it lacks pumpkinWrong. It has pumpkin spice syrup and pumpkin puree.
This topic made me think of how dumb some ingredient lists can be on food. Like this. You don't say...there be cane sugar in my cane sugar?!To be fair, ingredient lists are, like... legally required or something, even if it's blatantly obvious. (unless they're not and it turns out I'm wrong about this)

My 9 year old turned to me the other day and held up a chip, saying that its made from potatoes just like a french fry, so she was going to try and dip it in ketchup. The future is not entirely lost.and?
It's a marketing stunt. The 42% figure is pulled from an announcement of them rebranding Lay's and it cites no study.Yeah, I don't really believe it. Whenever you read a headline, you need to ask yourself what you're being sold, whether it's a product or an idea. Even from "real" news websites, if they're just citing a press release then it may as well be an advertisement.
America's dumb, but I don't think we've quite hit half the country not knowing a potato chip is made out of potato dumb.
and?The chip was later destroyed
My 9 year old turned to me the other day and held up a chip, saying that its made from potatoes just like a french fry, so she was going to try and dip it in ketchup. The future is not entirely lost. That's basically how I try to get my toddler to eat anything potato that's not french fry. I just say it's the same as a french fry it just looks different. There's no trust there though and the food usually goes uneaten.
