I don't know nearly enough about computers to use Linux.
And before anyone says it's 'easy', I've seen the arguments about which version is superior, and heard about the faffing around you have to do to get stuff to work.
Depending on your needs, you don't really have to do any "faffing"Is having a wireless printer weird? I do have one, as it happens.
The main problems people are going to run into with Linux are:
1. Trying to run a specific Windows application
2. Gaming
3. Modifying the OS/Kernel in ways that aren't supported, such as using a DE normally exclusive to a different distro
4. Have a weird hardware configuration (e.g. wireless printer)
If you aren't doing any of those things, then basically everything you want to do is supported out of the box with most Linux distros.

Is Windows 11 that bad? I haven't used it yet outside of my work laptop and it... functions I spose.I use it at work, and it's... you know... Windows. It centers your start menu by default. I set it to left in like one minute, including searching for the setting.

I haven't gotten that pop up but I worry about my computer running worse, it runs generally fine but it's a 5 year old prebuilt and I worry 11 would make it slow to the point where I would want to upgrade lol
The reason I haven't upgraded at home is because I got a popup window that said "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YOUR PC IS TOO OLD TO USE 11 BUY A NEW ONE YOU LOSER HAHAHAHAHAHAHA," which leada me to believe my PC is too old to use 11 and I would have to buy a new one.

I've been a life long Windows user but forced AI makes me want to get a mac mini lolApple made the most recent Mac Mini so OP that it outclasses the Mac Studio in some ways lmao. Amazing deal for the price.
Have a weird hardware configuration (e.g. wireless printer)I don't mean to rag on you in particular but this sort of thing is I think what I was the most disillusioned with when I tried linux for a bit. You see a bunch of people saying it just works now and you don't have to do anything fancy, you just use it like you would any other computer, and then when you try to use it a bunch of basic features of a PC just don't work because apparently things many people do regularly are too "weird"

Never let anyone tell you linux is ez. Running linux is like running an outdated OS. There's always something broken that you just haven't discovered yet. The forums are flooded with these exact scenarios. Yes, I'll be switching, but I've dipping my toe in and out for decades.
Is Steam OS not available on x86/64 anymore?
I remember playing around with it back in the day, but it was basically just Debian with a Steam wallpaper. Sounds like a lot has changed.
