It doesn't. At least not something disgusting and gaudy that makes the executive residence look tiny.
That doesn't mean things are fine as is. We don't have a good permanent event space at the White House. Just a couple of staterooms for diplomacy and tents wherever we need them. It barely works. I suspect the West Wing becoming less of a dungeon is something to do over the next decade or two.
