I just looked and the 32GB of RAM I bought for my new laptop back in June (not even five months now) has gone from $78 to $162. On the desktop side of things, I've been using the same one for 5 years now and haven't felt the need to upgrade, so as long as nothing breaks, I'm good. Funny story, though, the only reason my desktop has 32GB is because Amazon accidentally sent me a set of 16x2 instead of the 8x2 I ordered back then.
On a related note, nothing has come out in recent years that needs more than what I have (desktop has a 5600x and 3060 Ti, laptop has an AI 7 350 and 5060) to run at at least 60 FPS, even if that requires setting things to low (and for me, almost anything new looks good enough to my eyes even at those settings). Part of it just might be that almost nothing AAA has caught my attention in a long time, though, and I don't see that changing any time soon.
