I fucking loved when this was an active blog series. Dude tries the weirdest things he can find, up to and including a Backyard Tree Fungus. It was around even before Bizarre Foods, and I had a much smaller perspective of the world, so the impact was much greater.

I was in my teen years in 99 when I came to this site for Dragon Quest when it was still Dragon Warrior and VII had yet to make it to PlayStation: https://www.woodus.com/den/home.php

So some of us learn it is Dragon Quest and the Enix localization was the only translation we had for I-IV, with V and VI these unavailable games and the first remakes for the Erdrick Trilogy was as AVGN puts it, only in Japan.

I had no idea that blog I posted is the origin of none pizza with left beef. That's some weird deep time stuff, there.

Hell, the guy behind the blog, Steven Molaro, went on to be involved with significant chunks of nerd culture. I really only knew it for the weird food bit.

In 1997, Spider-Man The Animated Series aired the three part adaptation of Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars.

Found this site in 1998 and really got me interested in this maxiseries. Which I'd get later in the year. Prior to that, I printed the issue summaries eventually stapling them into book form. Still have them.

I was gonna link timecube, but after I went and read it I realized the current version is just a rehost/replication by a third party that's missing like 99% of the page content, and the original apparently had domain expire about 10 years ago
