Regarding Dom's nomination and why Elena didn't seem too upset in her DR segment at the end, sometime before nominations, Alex relayed her conversation with Dom to Elena, so Elena was aware that Dom threw her under the bus. Spoiler'd because it could still be covered on Wednesday's show I guess.

It's worth a shot. Best case all your people are protected. Worst case you have a reason to target Alex.
