Went with water because while cancer is more "impressive", water would probably help more people.
SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name...

Cure for cancer sounds nice but probably some corporations would keep it way too expensive.

Between cancer and water, I picked water. This might be a terrible thing to say, but cancer research has led to other discoveries in other biological fields - anatomy, genetics, cell processes, medicine. Not saying all scientists would stop studying if cancer were cured, but...

I was considering these "genie wishes" that might have a dark catch, and bed bugs seem like the would have less of a catch, and it would still help people worldwide
