My biggest problem with this bracket is that the losers are dropped in order. If Mega Man somehow loses to Monika/Pikachu/whoever and then wins his first loser's bracket match, he's "rewarded" with another match against the character that just beat him.
That's generally how loser's brackets in (e)sports work so he modeled it almost exactly like that.
No it's not, unless fighting games just do things differently than other eSports.

Note how someone who loses in round 1 is sent to the opposite side of loser's bracket as compared to someone who loses in round 2.
