About the tiebreaker. Do we factor in the whole "registered users count double" as part of the count?

My initial instinct was "no" because even if we're counting them double it's still technically a single vote. On the other hand, when I stopped to think about it I imagine the doubled vote would be reflected in the poll results so maybe it would?

Yeah, that was my reading of it. At first I was a bit confused too, but: " Battles will begin daily at midnight UTC, instead of midnight Pacific time. That's 5PM Pacific before November 4, and 4PM after."

Definitely sounds like 4 concurrent matches running 24 hours and not 6-hour matches or anything.

The doubled votes aren't counted in the tiebreaker. Clarified on the entry form.

Cant believe only D.Va got in for Overwatch characters. Seems weird Tracer didnt since shes the mascot. At least D.Vas ok, but I could think of like a dozen others Id have nominated over her. Her seed is a lot lower than I wouldve guessed too. I had to look up who some characters even were because Ive never heard of them before.

also god fucking dammit what will it take for Cloud to face Mario or somebody new? Literally next to Link yet again because who would ever want to see new matches am I right :/

I'm definitely disappointed that Kate didnt make the cut but happy to see Chloe not only get in but with a respectable seed (no way she's beating Lightning though)

On the bright side, the character I was planning to rally up until I played Life is Strange made the bracket with virtually 0 board support, which is Shantae. So I've got another niche favorite to root for.

Personally Id like to see Cloud swapped with Samus or Sonic that way if (really when, but lets pretend) the Legends advance we can get some new matches that havent happened in ages if at all. A lot of us would like to see Snake/Cloud or Cloud/Mario to see how the power struggle has changed for everyone who isnt Link. Link/Cloud might as well be like making a match of Bran Flakes vs Lucky Charms

Gotta say at first glance, I love this bracket.

Double elimination for the final sixteen is awesome, too, since it gives us a chance to see a lot more Noble Niner vs. high elite type matches, which are always great.

I mean, technically speaking it's double elimination. So it's not "just for losers" the winner of that section gets a slot in the overall finals.

to lose to the king again

literally in my case since link gets to put the beatdown on mario twice

Allen is it still possible to change the way the losers bracket works so that it avoids rematches? Can post an example of what I mean when I get home in like 10 minutes

Overall though this looks really great at a glance.

My biggest problem with this bracket is that the losers are dropped in order. If Mega Man somehow loses to Monika/Pikachu/whoever and then wins his first loser's bracket match, he's "rewarded" with another match against the character that just beat him.

Ultimately avoiding any rematches is impossible, but I think most people's concerns would be mitigated if you reversed the order the losers appear in the first round of the Losers' Bracket. You'd have the same matches, but just flip the order. That said I don't really care/mind about this much.

No it's not, unless fighting games just do things differently than other eSports.

Note how someone who loses in round 1 is sent to the opposite side of loser's bracket as compared to someone who loses in round 2.

Yeah, nearly every tournament I've entered flips the side of the bracket that losers get sent to each round.

Granted I only play rhythm games competitively and that's not exactly a big scene but still.

Yeah, that's a really interesting match because we never really know what to expect fro Kefka. He could end up getting a fairly easy win (over 55%) or find some way to choke in that match.

The loser's bracket entries should be rotated based on which round they go out in, so I don't end up with this:

Round 1 of loser's is fine, but winner of 133 should go to 139 and winner of 135 should go to 137. (And the same for the subsequent matches.) If you flipped that, my loser's round 2 would be Sonic vs Mega Man, Samus vs Crono, Pikachu vs Sans and Kirby vs Sephiroth. As it is, we have 3 repeat matches and would have had 4 if I hadn't taken Seph > Samus.

I'm hardly saying these are the correct picks, but for demonstration purposes, it works just fine.
