yeah.Death stranding will at least be a very unique experience...you might hate it but theres nothing like it out there.

Code Vein and Surge are both mediocre soulslike games. (CV does have an amazing character creator though). ACO is generi ubisoft game #423. and Vampyr i've never played but from what i've seen in reviews it's not very good, and full of bugs.

Death Stranding and AC:O are the best options, Vampyr is really neat but can be offputting, haven't played the two Soulslikes.

I've just gone back to AC Origins and got re-hooked on it, so I'm saying Odyssey.
(I actually just finished the Origins story today and bought both DLC chapters. Weighing up whether I should also buy Odyssey, or leave it until I've finished all of Origins).
The shattered stage is set and there's a role you must fulfil

Death Stranding is very hit or miss, you'll either love it or hate it, might be worth a look though.

Code Vein is anime Souls with a fantastic character creator. The actual plot is nothing to write home about but some of the characters are decent. The gameplay is OK, it's way floatier and there's less weight than with Souls but at the same time magic is much more viable out of the gate and you have a lot of options for builds.

I've heard good things about The Surge 2. The first one was pretty good if a bit jank and this one is supposed to be much improved and faster.

Have no experience with Odyssey or Vampyr.

Odyssey is on sale pretty often so there's no rush. But when you do, make sure to get the bundle with the DLC because they move the overall story forward more than anything since the Ezio games.

I mean I just kinda lump in Freedom Cry with Black Flag. Origins was great but I feel like it was mostly paving the way for the new setup of AC games that Odyssey capitalized on.

should also be noted I got a good 100+ hours out of Odyssey, far far more than any other AC game

yeah I got the platinum, which I haven't attempted to do for a single AC game since 2. it's good. I think Origins is just a touch better - more interesting sidequests and overall story, while Odyssey has the better protagonist and DLC.
