How do your organize your games?

Well I figure it would be multiple ways but uh I basically just do consoles first, then disc/digital, games Im currently playing, make a multiplayer folder, and then I move games Ive beaten but not 100% in case I wish to do so later. For steam its largely games Im interested in more than anything else.

I also probably forgot some other ways to organize games but hey, maybe learning them will keep me more on track of playing them!

Organize???
i have a pile for "already played" and another for "playing now/could play soon"
On Steam, I have categories for Completed, Beaten, Unbeatable/Endless, Decent (could be motivated to beat it down the road), No Return (no intention to come back to), and the default Games (aka not yet categorized). They are then ordered alphabetically within each category.

On XB1, I have games organized by download size.

On tablet/mobile/PS4/Switch, I have the default last played/downloaded.

Anything physical is grouped by console.

Used to be console -> alphabetical but currently there's no organization except that older games are in a storage box.

For digital it's pretty much just whatever is default on each platform.
Congrats to BKSheikah , who knows more about years than anyone else.
Console/Alphabetical

Although separating my Backlog and games I've beaten might be pretty cool
Console-Alphabetical

My physical games aren't that organized. They're by console but the shelf with them is upstairs and the systems are downstairs so they often don't get put away. My digital games, well, they don't need to be organized so much, but I was using PSDLE for PSN until they cut the browser down to PS4/5 only, and I just today downloaded GOG Galaxy to try to consolidate PC and incidentally PSN into a list. I'm very disappointed that the Amazon Prime launcher is not accessible to it.

Console -> Alphabetical

Occasionally I'll make an exception to the alphabet rule in order to keep a series together and in order. This more applies to my DVDs/Blu Rays (for example I have Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises all together with the Bs).

Depends on my mood.

I always put current generation games first no matter what.

Right no I'm doing alphabetical and I put the rest of my games no matter the console in alphabetical order.

In general though I either group games by genre or in order of my favorite franchises.

I also have separate spots for PS1 & PS3 due to their abnormal sizes, and I keep both Resident Evil & Silent Hill series separate in special places. And showcase some other favorites uniquely.

Console

They aren't organized within that except that I keep games from the same series together. Digital games are just default

Console- Box types

so like all the switch games with "nintendo" on the side or ps2 classics or weird box arts get their own section, then series are grouped together

on pc (outside of steam) i have a games folder and then have subfolders for different developers that i put games in

on steam i categorise everything manually by genre

my ps2 games i have on a shelf sorted by the SCES/SLES numbers
everything else is by some vague genre order or alphabetically in the case of my ds games
I do it alphabetical now but I used to do it in order that I got them.
Console --> Alphabetical

Anything from the past 10 years is in my main gaming room

Anything older than that is in my old games room
Console -> Alphabetical

I make a few exceptions by putting games in series order if the naming is different.
Physical games are grouped by console

Digital games are grouped into categories

1) Multiplayer
a) Online
b) Local
2) Single player
a) Good but not playing again
b) Not worth playing
c) The game/s I'm currently playing

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.
Voted that I don't organize them but then I noticed that "by console" is an option so I guess I should've gone with that. Kinda figured that'd be assumed since who would have Switch games mixed with Wii games mixed with PS4 games mixed with whatever else?

My current games are not organised at all.

My old ps1/2/3/ds etc games are organised left to right in order of preference. They're sitting on a shelf in my old room.
Not to be confused with XIII_stones.

Digital collection is just whatever the default is. Usually alphabetical

I really only have games on Steam, unless you want to go back several console generations. I organize those into a few categories -- favorites, in queue, "might return to" and then a pile of other games. There's also quite a few on my hidden list that I have no interest in admitting are in the library still.

On Steam, I've made a mess of things that I should clean someday.

It's categorized mostly by purchase time. I have folders like Summer Sale 2016, Winter 2018, Beated 2018, New Games (containing games from like 2013-14), Currently Playing, Currently Post-Game, and various others like that, as well as bundles together (Tomb Raider, Spiderweb Software, Humble Bundle)

For physical, I used to try to organize my N64 and GCN/Wii, but never had much space. It's been... mmm. It's been about fifteen to twenty games I want to play/"am playing"/would play again in a drawer by the console, and the rest either in another drawer or in my room. Not actually sure where my N64 stuff is atm either...
