convention tournaments are largely filled with super casual players for the most part in my experience so you'll fit right in

Yeah this is why I'm so annoyed. Had I kept playing at the level I was at I feel like there was a chance I could get top 3.

My dude, I enter the Anime North Smash tournament each year despite pretty much never playing competitive Smash. Last time I got 2nd place (in 2019 for obvious reasons)

You'll probably get top 3 anyway. It's like riding a bike.

Don't know what cons yall played at, but the Smash tourney at Youmacon in Detroit is attended by a lot of Michigan's heavy hitters; our number 1 player Zinoto placed near the top 20 at the major Smash tourney this past week.

I got bodied by the guy hosting my big 5 suite telling me an hour out that his friends had bailed and we no longer had the suite so I had to scramble to try and get a room for my girlfriend and I last-minute. Thankfully a lot of people must have canceled last minute and I got us one but with all that going on I missed registration and the tournament.

I'll go down and play drunk friendlies later prolly

Met a dude with a gimmick like that at ColossalCon in Ohio, had to take one game off his Zero Suit Samus; if I won he'd give me a 50% discount on anything, if i lost i HAD to buy something.

I lost lol, but I was still new to the game at that point

I beat him 2-0 and then trolled him by saying I wasn't even gonna buy anything but then I bought a sweet print that he drew.

Dangerous to put that kind of discount up there and then lose to someone of my caliber.
