Game of the Decade was the first one I was part of from the start. It also happened to be a good contest with a winner I was rooting for, and then basically all contests after kinda sucked. I liked Decade II, but the lower vote totals and even further removal of gamefaqs' taste from the mainstream hurts a lot.

I have a soft spot for Villains. It wasn't a great contest, but it was fun in its own way. I'd probably feel better about GotD1 if people hadn't rallied plucky underdog Zelda to victory and denied FFX its chance, so I ended up voting for the original Games Contest.

My wife went to bed early tonight so I got a chance to start Trails Into Reverie, and the intro to this game is exactly what I feared. They rapid-fire show a bunch of characters from the Crossbell games that I recognize, but they don't show their names and I blanked on like 75% of their names when I tried to remember them, so I'm already feeling overwhelmed...!

All right, I cleared the Crossbell Prologue in Trails Into Reverie.

Since when did Wazy and Wald work together? And when did Wald start wearing glasses? Anyway, this was a fairly straightforward prologue, and we didn't even have any situations where the SSS appeared to win and didn't. Now it looks like Crossbell will finally have its independence. Total success all around! Then we get a weird cutaway to something called Project Babel, which is now entering its second phase. Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn!

I had max stamina with 5 hearts lol. First time you had to pick hearts and then the heart container for a temple.

It's very inconvenient when I am borderline old about checking every single bit of the map for korok seeds and such to have low stamina.

But I've appreciated getting more hearts since because everything got me to a quarter heart before (since very few things can OHKO from full health, you'll have a quarter of a heart left regardless of how many hearts you have at full, if it was strong enough to kill).

Hearts kinda felt like a waste early on since enemies would still 2HKO me. Like maybe now I survive with more than a quarter of a heart, but I still die in one more hit and I need more healing than before to top off my hearts.
My bracket looked like random picks compared to his.

love the end of book 2 (though the book itself was a bit tedious in places)

book 3 really ties everything together - it's a really well-imagined magic system!
yet all azuarc of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness

I can't imagine exploring without 2 stamina wheels so I go for that instantly. I wish I could go for 3 but I do get pissed off dying to everything in one shot.

Eh, I would just mix elixirs to recover stamina or get the bonus wheel by paying a little extra at an inn or stable if I really needed the extra stamina. I was rarely in a spot where I literally couldn't get somewhere.

Jack, sometimes you're too good at what you do for your own good, but I don't know what you thought was going to happen when you dropped off Ramon. Also, I'm glad Kim was logging these suspicious moments from Gael, but she should've gotten outta there instead of trying to call someone from his work area!

And I had a big "whoa" moment to see that Oscar from The Office was the pilot!

TOTK: Goron Region explored.

144 Shrines. 914 Koroks.

I see Goron City is in the middle of a very special episode but they'll have to wait on that. There's a shrine or two (I presume based on the radar and my own searching) as well as some cave exploration blocked off by these weird gloom rocks that didn't budge despite my trying a bunch of stuff but it sounds like breaking them is locked behind the quest so they will also have to wait.

This (mostly) completes the overworld exploring. Yay! The only region I haven't been to is the parts of Gerudo Desert under the sandstorm. I have three shrines marked on my map over there that I saw from a distance, combined with the one or two (I can't recall and since I can't see them... I'm basing it off radar pings) in the Goron area so that's at least four more. That Korok number continues to make me sad. I'd be surprised if there were more than say... 20... Koroks in the desert area I haven't been to so unless there's like 930-940 Koroks I must have missed a good bunch.

Gonna do some quest wraps up and whatever else I can think of aboveground and then the great Depths exploration shall begin.

TOTK: Accidentally found another Shrine while bouncing around to turn in quests and check on a few things. Radar started pinging while I was hopping from shrine to shrine to get to places. It was one of the shrines inside a cave and I immediately realized what happened. It had to have been before I got my shrine radar because I never would have left it otherwise, and I must have been out of bombs because since the rock walls don't regenerate on a blood moon I could see my path through had been by just hammering through it with a 2H blunt sword. Normally I bomb those walls because it's just faster and gets more of the rock. But this particular one was blocking two "exits" and my hammering only got me to one of them while concealing the shrine behind the other. That's pretty rare so I must have just missed it since this had to have been pretty early on in my playing. So make that 145 Shrines.

Anyway, the Depths exploration has begun! I'm actually pretty good with this so far because now I am finally liberated from my Korok hunt (I did check way back when that there were no Koroks in the Depths) so I can finally equip something other than the Korok Mask lol. Early observation that I just want to check on, but I started in the area around Lookout Landing and it seems to be the case that the rivers are represented down here as impassable walls that you can't even climb over even if the minimap shows land just beyond. Is that accurate-ish? Kind of feels like it would naturally divide the Depths into chunks separated by them, though that's fine by me as well. Just defied my expectation that it was all completely connected like the overworld and that I'll need to pop up and go down different chasms to get to different spots.

Yeah, there are definitely unbridgeable gaps in the Depths, I guess so you can't get to everywhere from a single Chasm.
