Basically not including the PS1 games and X, and XIV because I hear everyone talk about them. XVI is probably too early. Just thinking about what next in line would be amongst board 8!

XIII for me with V fairly close. Havent played XI, XV or FFTA. FF1 is ok, but the others in the poll are awful

I feel like I'm the only person who didn't like FFV sometimes. The class system was pretty neat, but otherwise I never found the game that great. Nothing about the story stood out as particularly memorable to me.

Was thinking about running a simiar poll here for some of the FFs I haven't played, because narrowing down where to go next is difficult, five of the games have things that would normally make me go like "yep this, this is the one, i need this now"
Just go in release order from where you are. 6 is a great place to go next

Back in the 00s it was consensus pick for weakest of the SNES FFs. It got a resurgence in the 10s and 20s, it seems.

Yeah, I played FFV back in the day and I'm not a huge fan of it. I like it, but I'm also someone who doesn't think the job system is the greatest thing ever created.

with the elims yeah I'm pretty sure it is XI for me

the initial main-story is kinda shit (including Rise of the Zilart in this) but expansions after are fab

wish it was more playable since you definitely still require some help do so some things where Trusts are insufficient (I couldn't finish Abyssea, or my main class Artifact Armour quests because I wanted to Rune Fencer which is one of the last jobs so it's higher level content)

like one thing about XI's Trust system is that if the enemies cast Charm on you your Trusts go away and you can't re-summon Trusts mid-fight.

Yeah if you're leaving out the "dominant" ones, 6-10, 14 and Tactics seems like the right selection to leave out.

Everyone should play games for themselves and determine what they think of it in under their own merits.

I, personally, consider XV my most disliked game of all time, and to me it is the true 1/10 experience in regards to how much I dislike it. It's a game with no merits, no values at all, except the fishing is pretty fun. Then they made a fishing only game, so at least someone there had their head on straight.

But everyone is gonna prioritize different things!

X-2 is almost perfect already, but I won't complain if they remake it and add Brother as a playable party member!

Final Fantasy, historically, has not written female characters as well as its male characters. This is almost universally accepted by the general public consensus. Claiming otherwise is like...I wasn't going to outright state 'you just want a playable character to fap to', but it's pretty accurate.
