Wow. Just wow. Mazey Day dethroned Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too and then some. Well deserved, IMO. Anyway, here's the latest Black Mirror episode for now, broadcast under the more supernatural-leaning Red Mirror. This is also the right time to get in the ratings for the days you missed.
It stars Nida (Anjana Vasan), a mild-mannered sales assistant. She releases a demon, Gaap (Paapa Essiedu), who tells her she must commit three murders to prevent the end of the world. Though reluctant at first, Nida manages to get in her first kill when the right opportunity presents it self. But will she be able to go through with it and save the world?

Great performances from the leads.

Not as high on this as others I guess. It is fun and the performances are good, but to me, this doesn't uniquely feel like a Black Mirror episode (I guess because it wasn't actually meant to be but I digress). I feel like it could slot in to just about any other horror anthology TV series out there. It doesn't have a unique voice to it. It does very little with its apparent 1970s horror influence outside the opening titles and I wish it leaned in to that more. And just like it does nothing with that influence, all the rest of the themes and plot points of the episode are all surface-level as well - everything pretty much happened and is explored like I expected it to. There's no twistiness or surprise to the narrative despite what should be an insane premise.

the only episodes i didn't rank (as far as i recall) were white bear and white christmas (huh. i didn't notice season 2 had 2 episodes starting with white lol. coincidence)

white bear because i was like "well it was just an action episode and i don't really like those" but then i was like "i do recall liking it though" but also i think that's because the hipster in me tried to make myself like it because other people didn't. but i don't think that's true i think it was just mostly compelling. so idk i'll go 6/10

white christmas i just sort of don't remember well enough, i remember it was really good so i was unsure if i should go 9 of 10 or just full 10 of 10 but i couldn't decide so i just didn't. i guess i'll go 9/10 because if it was a true 10/10 i'd probably remember it more.
