Note due to the amount of december releases, I'll be taking lists until 1/1

I do this across several different discords and forums then total it up

Rules
It doesn't matter if your list is 1 game, 3 games , or the full 10. just make sure you number them correctly.
must be 2023 releases
no direct re-releases like legend of mana or compilation ports like devil mary cry hd collection
Compilations that never were released in the west like Great Ace Attorney Chronicles count!
if a game came out on pc last year but hit consoles majority this year, it counts

Post your list here up until 1/1 after that I'll reveal the Goty starting 1/2 in a fresh topic

I was going to say if it was major enough to warrant a new version number, but then I remembered that Hearthstone would get new version numbers every time they released a new card set, which was like 3 times per year, so that's probably not the best way to quantify that.

Dang I did not play many games this year. I'm guessing you don't think Live A Live counts since it's about as much changed as Legend of Mana? Not that here in the USA I had a chance to buy it before.

1) Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog
2) Honkai Star Rail
3) Another Crusade

Live A Live would be number 1 otherwise. And yes, I didn't play many games that were new this year at all so my list is weird.

gonna hold off on this till i pick up tevi in a few weeks because it could end up very high for me

already a lot of other stuff i definitely know i'll be trying to factor in though. such as Ghostpia, World of Horror, Sailing Era, Paranormasight, Glimmer in Mirror (which i think i might end up having as a snub currently), Alice Escaped (also prob not making it), Loop8, Enjoy The Diner, Atelier Marie's original ver if it's allowed to count that on its own even though it's just available as deluxe edition content for marie remake (maybe Rhapsody 2/3 as well but i haven't started them yet), GrimGrimoire and Yggdra Union's remasters, Harumachi Toroidal, AC6, Black & White, Volcano Princess, Fashion Dreamer... list just goes on. and I also likely will count aster tatariqus too if global happens this month too... heck (and there's so many other games i was eyeing that I still need to pick up or start too...)

That's a good reason not to count. Wikipedia's games that released that year list was confusing since they mentioned all later console releases of games from previous years in the 2023 list and I was clearly so pleased to see it I forgot to check. It came out on PlayStation this year, which is unhelpful for this list.

Tag - I've been meaning to take the time to boil everything from this year down into a top ten but there's just been so much incredible stuff this year. This is a nice kick in the pants to sort it out!
