Hi its me TomNook7. I'm in the same boat in that i dont like mmos, but i wanted to beat every good mainline FF game (passed on 2 and 13). So i did most of my ff14 playthrough here on board 8, and these guys were a big help with clearing hard fights / dungeons and getting hype for me doing the story.

If you do take the plunge, im sure these guys would love to help you along the way. And dont play with AI computers lol. Its a multiplayer game - just play with people like a normal human being. Also i know you can be super opinionated and critical - but be nice to the ff14 fans lol. That community is all about chasing good vibes and being respectful, and just be chill with them and they'll reciprocate the love

some tips:
just take your time. youre gonna get impatient with ARR's main quest, but if that happens just take a break or go off the beaten path. But ARR eases you into mechanics, lore, world building, etc and the payoff leasing into Heavensward is worth it

also dont be a completionist lol

FF14 has the most fully realized and believable world in FF history, it has some of the best music, Shadowbringers has some of the best story, it has the best Dragoon in the series, etc. if youre a hardcore FF enthusiast, its worth the ride. Just have a little patience and be willing to meet it halfway, and i think you'll be pleasantly surprised
