These two are guaranteed on my list. I'm obviously biased toward Ng, but he's emerged as THE contest guy, and is the primary reason that we as a community have among the most detailed archivals in the history of the internet. His incredible job hosting The Show podcast has given me a decade's worth of unforgettable memories. Ulti is also a big contest guy, and his Starcraft-backed win in 2004 is still arguably the most famous contest win ever, but he earns his spot for dominating the board's social scene.

The other two names are way harder for me to pick. You guys have already provided at least a dozen outstanding people, so I wanna say just take this list and roll a die twice:

The last two slots are pretty hard (like leaving out Yo or SHINE or ertyu or KP feels wrong but four slots is cramped , man), but I think I'm in agreement that NG and Ulti are completely non-negotiable.

Solarshadow and creativename are both huge contributors to contest culture, but I don't know that they were huge parts of the board itself. They deserve recognition for their achievements though, for sure.

They're first ballot Hall of Famers, but not Mount Rushmore.

TRE is another guy who deserves a shoutout, but I don't think he'd be top 4.

The more I think about it, yo is probably right and Ngamer should be one of the four. The Show, the Stats Archive, the Guru site, and LOL X-Stats are all undeniably important contributions.

My personal list would probably be something like

Ulti - you can hate or love him, but remember a slave owner is on mount Rushmore it's not the morality police lol
Heroic Mario- he pretty much embodied what it meant to be a board 8er imo. Passionate about contest, passionate about games, always willing to share his love and enthusiasm
Ngamer - was the contest foundation of the board imo.
Yoblazer - probably the best of us I would say.
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised more people aren't mentioning HM. I guess he's been gone longer than I realize, but LISTS probably doesn't become such a big part of B8 without him.

I didnt interact with him much personally and I cannot remember specifics but I associate HM with this board, he was omnipresent and everyone really seemed to like him. I wouldnt put him in my personal Rushmore but for sure he made an impact and deserves a spot

This board was built off of contests, the CS&D-topics have the people I know best, and to a large degree we the board kick ass in contests compared to the rest of the website because of the decades of discussion from within these topics...gonna center my picks around this foundation.

Right or wrong, these users have been among the most influential in there, but they are also influential outside of the contests and have done so with both in positive ways. They've also been long-time users since nearly the beginning without me thinking of them being gone for any particularly long gaps or being blocked by many people. Respect.
