It wasn't the taliban that won, yoblazer. It was wokeness, but thankfully that is massively falling flat on its face. Look at who companies are laying off first. They don't even realize they are the ones that suffer under MAGA lmao
Man I'd kill for my team to be in the position the 49ers are in. I'd rather be the Chiefs, obviously, but 49ers are in a pretty easy conference, have a fantastic team, and have made 3 super bowls recently. Some of us still haven't made one!
Elway handing us the trophy, that gave us more than the Broncos, winning it in the Raiders stadium.
pretty great feeling

Super Bowl commercials stopped being funny when the "I only watch for the commercials" trend started
Maybe, but SB commercials have been culturally relevant for ages, at least a quarter century. I remember teachers talking to us students about them in elementary school, which would have been mid-to-late 90s.
To broaden that topic a bit - every time I watch a big football game, I'm reminded why soccer will probably never become big here. Everything about football just perfectly ties into (and has probably influenced) the American traditions of consumerism and excess. Major US corporations probably shudder at the idea of soccer taking over, and suddenly being forced to pump their advertising through a sport where the games are shorter and ad breaks can only be done at halftime.
If it sounds like I'm being strange and edgy, it's because I am. I love the actual sport of football (played it in high school), but the culture that surrounds it often makes me feel gross and self-loathing, like my brain just ate a gigantic brain-donut or something.
It was just the coincidence of it being 25 years since he won Super Bowl MVP
no, soccer just generally sucks
That and their jerseys are all made up of logos of giant corporations plastered all over them anyway.
Yeah, the only difference between soccer and football with ads is that football ads are loud and in your face. Soccer ads are subtle, but they're always visible.
I think most people find ad breaks - actual commercials - to be far more obtrusive and annoying than sponsored jerseys or background graphics. The average soccer game has about ten minutes of commercials, all during halftime. The average football game has about five times as much. The "only" difference is a very significant one in this case.
I find soccer uniforms atrocious to look at
(i chose west ham lol me)
wow great choice, especially yesterday :) :) :)
Apparently the 49ers players didn't know the playoff overtime rules and the Chiefs players did
They were also planning to go for 2 at the end had the Niners scored a TD. That would've been fun.
coaching failure not to have at least your captains know what the plan is.
This is why Shanahan will never win the big one
Purdy will never make it back to the SB
The only way to prevent the threepeat is for them to not make it. Lamar has to get over the hurdle
I'll allow it

shut up we still went 2-1 against them this season
also we're still champions of Europe, bet you won't sing that
(but my god that transfer window was horrendous and if we didn't already have 36 points I would be very worried)
People are calling it a block but it was a damn miss being kicked that low.
It just occurred to me. If the clock would've rolled over at the end of overtime, why even have a game clock in playoff overtime? Just have it be like college overtime and only have a play clock.
