What in the Mandela effect is this?

Have you ever found a type effectiveness that you've been wrong about for years?
darkx
Rock is super effective against bug is probably why you thought that. It makes more sense than most Mandela type stuff

I know for a long time I would get ground and rock weaknesses/resistances muddled since so many things were rock/ground
No problem!
This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Always really weird when they have a type that super-effects another, but doesn't resist it when being attacked back.

Anyone else find it weird poison resists fighting? Feels like they pulled that one out of a hat.
Okay, I rolled a 14. What's that mean? Hsu

I'm always more shocked at just how much crap Ice and Grass are weak to despite how good they are at attacking, and also what Steel is strong against when attacking (like, yes, I get strong versus Fairy because of the whole "can't stand cold iron" but nothing else ever makes sense to me what it hits strong and what resists it.)

Uh, yeah.

My Beedrill would absolutely destroy Brock for that first badge.

Beedrill learns its first damaging Bug move, Twineedle, at Lv20. If you levelled up that much, I'm not surprised Onix just folded.
My bracket looked like random picks compared to his.
Congrats to azuarc for winning the GotD 2020 Guru Contest!
i don't suffer from this one. rock is not that good a defensive type. it's the combination of being the first gym before you have a lot of good water moves, the combo with ground for electric resistance, and high defense.

best is gen 1 bug/poison being super-effective against one another, or ghosts/dragons being super vs themselves

surely "grass is a good offensive type" is incredibly biased by the first 2 gyms of RBY?

thematically it totally makes sense that ice is fragile!
yet all azuarc of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness

it hits water and ground which are two incredibly common types in competitive

but is also resisted by dragon and steel

Fairy specifically was made to buff steel and poison as attacking types and nerf dragon, I don't think there's much logic behind that one.

Electric and Rock being neutral to each other was a surprising one to me for a while.

Bug/Poison's relationship always throws me off as well.

Yeah, this threw me off during Gen I, but by Gen II I figured it out. There are actually TWO big reasons for this one - most Rock Pokemon in Gen I were also Ground, and season 1 of the anime constantly said that Rock is immune to Electric.

Bug's and Poison's resistances are the most difficult for me.

It's a good thing it isn't. Enough things resist Bug as is.

Bug resisting Fighting has always been the weirdest one to me

like have you ever tried stomping on a bug

Stomp is a normal move though. Kicking a bug would be tough.

As a big grass user, it's not that great of a type. It's just carried in single player because of the ubiquity of rock ground and water.

I felt so strongly that Fairy should be weak to Bug that I forgot Fairy actually resists Bug instead

Yeah, the typing makes no sense. Ever tried to kill an ant or a bee with a rock? It sucks. Ever see them hurt a rock? Nope. Both should resist each other if we're being realistic.
Existence. Existence is but shallow question with no answer. Buu make you chicken nuggies!

okay the ACTUAL surprising one is that Rock doesnt resist itself.

ground resists rock and so many early rock types were rock/ground that your brain just starts to assume rock resists rock and yet it doesnt

Not a Mandela effect, but I didn't know Rock was super effective on Bug for many years.
