Legends of the Hidden TempleI so wish there was reason to actually vote for this, but sadly if you ask any generation that isn't Millennials (or late Xers), they'd have no idea what you're talking about. The CW reboot failed hard.
Choosing Millionaire over Price because it felt like a way bigger deal at the time,Wait, so a show that was a huge deal for a year and a half is preferable to a show that's still going strong after 52 years and has been watched by numerous generations?
is Millionaire even being produced now?not in the US, but it has an absurd number of foreign versions, many of which are still running (though a lot of them also ended, and many of them have been restarted at least once), and also if you want a foreign-starting show the original version was the UK one so I guess there is that
Wait, so a show that was a huge deal for a year and a half is preferable to a show that's still going strong after 52 years and has been watched by numerous generations?I mean when you put it that way it sounds stupid. I dunno, I guess I grew up in a bubble where nobody cared about The Price Is Right. I've never known anybody who unironically cared about it beyond acknowledging that it's been around forever and its hosts are respected.

I've seen clips from the Australian and Canadian versions of Feud, whereas I can't recall the last time I've stumbled across something from any Millionaire.

The Price is Rightthat said despite what I just said, actually yeah
Wheel of Fortune

It definitely helped revive interest in the genre in 1999 - though ABC doing easier questions for the US edition to drive up ratings in that first year (as opposed to being tougher like the British edition) certainly helped.
Thinking about it, I also associate Millionaire with the more modern style of game show like Deal or No Deal, where it's got a lot of lingering tension. It might have only been in the zeitgeist for a few years but I feel like it was the template for the genre's 21st century incarnation.
Nominate: Reality showsI think we need to split this up. We could easily do one for competitive reality shows and one for non-competitive. So, nominate both I guess.

I feel like there's barely any competitive reality shows worth putting on a Rushmore. You have to combine the categories if you want any actual debate.

who else would it beI suppose it could be me but I was actually not an FF fan at the time and Luigi is another of my favorites so I was pissed. Even today I'd still be fine with Luigi winning.
Looking back at yesterday's results: Zelda > Mario was objectively a bigger upset than. Vivi > Mario > Ganondorf. I don't fault the occasional fan picks though and I know a lot of people liked seeing Vivi take a big win home, but Mario leeched by Ganondorf didn't shock me too much in that loss.
Squall wouldn't have won that even if Vivi lost.
One match from that contest worth batting an eye at though? This one has always confounded me.
In the same contest Squirtle beat Cloud, Mewtwo beat Sephiroth, and Pikachu with Pokemon Trainer Blue still beat Sora... Mega Man with Zero in the poll still beat Charizard. Mega Man winning there felt like an attempt of salvaging that contest...and while that is not enough to salvage the contest, it was suh-weeeeeeet.
