Getting ready to retire my S9+ it's been having a lot of overheating issues and I just don't feel like dealing with it anymore

Don't really know about the differences between the last few Galaxy iterations other than I see the S24 has a new chipset. Just wondering if it's a big enough difference to go straight to that or if I should go a bit cheaper and go with the S23 from last year instead.

Not a Samsung person, but in general last year's models are just as well for general purposes. I have not been impressed going current-generation with the costs that come with that.

Because of our plan it actually wasn't all that more expensive to get the S24 over the S23, which is what I went into expecting to get. The S24 had come out literally a couple days before we went in so they had a bunch of deals on it. Dunno if those are still going on.

I don't know much about the actual differences between the specs (I was completely fine with my old one outside of the battery) but I was surprised to find out that the S24 doesn't have a phone jack so they went with the iPhone route on that. If that matters to you.

I actually don't think there's going to be much of a difference in price, last time I checked, but that was a few months ago. The big new feature list for S24 is primarily AI stuff related to things like translation and photo taking, if you don't care about that it really doesn't matter which you get. I'd say to go with the S23 if it's anything more than $100 cheaper.

Technically, the S24 does have a new tier of chip, but considering my S23+ can play Wii and 3DS games without hiccups it's really not necessary lol.

I think the S23 and S24 are pretty similar from what I've seen

Not quite the same, but I have an S23 Ultra and I'm pretty happy with it
