Samsung phone upgrade question

Getting ready to retire my S9+ it's been having a lot of overheating issues and I just don't feel like dealing with it anymore

Don't really know about the differences between the last few Galaxy iterations other than I see the S24 has a new chipset. Just wondering if it's a big enough difference to go straight to that or if I should go a bit cheaper and go with the S23 from last year instead.
