Not sure how much the brand is worth minus RWBY and with all the negative press it had the last 5-10 years of its existence.
TheRock ~ I had a name, my father called me Blues.
Not just minus RWBY.

A lot of properties were bought by the creators and went independent.

But even if the site is just a living archive that keeps the videos available to watch I will be happy.

Also I don't think Burnie and Ashley really care about how much the brand is worth. They don't want it to be what it was at the end.

At best they are probably hoping to follow in SMOSH's footsteps and just make fun new content with whatever audience is still there.

Excited to see where they go with it, whether it is just an archive or they actually do something new.

Interesting. Bit disappointed they didn't wait until April 1st to announce the re-launch (in keeping with tradition), but maybe they'll still use that date as an important milestone.

I've really only kept up with 100% Eat (formerly Face Jam) and Regulation Podcast (formerly F**k Face), but I guess I'll listen the the podcast episode Burnie mentioned and see how it sounds:

Toward the end of his announcement, Burnie encouraged fans to listen to the February 5th episode of the Morning Somewhere podcast to learn more about the companys re-launch.

I'm lukewarm on this. What people liked about RT were the people and the shows, and the people have all gone off to do other things and taken a lot of the shows with them. And RT wasn't profitable for ten years before it closed and he was there for six of those, so what's different now?

Plus, there's the press release on the RT website:

Along with the acquisition, Box Canyon announced a new development slate of productions for 2025, including renewed production of some of the platforms classic shows, a new original audio adventure Again, and an untitled reimagining of Burns first film The Schedule.

Makes me wonder if he just acquired the IP to publicise his film.
Still the number one reason for the success of the Internet.

They have said for years that they wish that wasn't their anniversary.

I kind of like doing it close to the anniversary of the company's death instead.

I guess it's more the anniversary of the shut down announcement not the actual shut down.

Yes, and that would only make it's continued importance funnier to me :)

Not to mention all of the doubt people would justifiably have with RT's rebirth being announced on April Fools
