I've come to really like the odd little bits of the map. I honestly don't know what I'd shave. A lot of the areas that feel underdeveloped still tell pretty interesting stories.
Take
Putrified Ducts
for example, on its own it's a nothing kinda filler area. But as the connective tissue between
The Citadel and Bilewater
it's genius. You could maybe cut a room or two but the role it's playing is good. I can say the same about most of the other areas. Really, I think if these areas weren't considered their own separate maps and were instead sub-areas like The Hive or Isma's Grove in HK, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Funny enough the biggest oddball zone in the game is just considered a sub-area (
theWisp grove
) but I think they gave that one exactly the amount of space it needed to get its deal across
