Ngl its kind of annoying how critical this show is to the overall The Boys plot
yeah, but if Keith somehow comes back next episode for revenge, he's likely gonna die by the end.
I think at least part of it is making Marie strong enough to heal his body
But his convo with Sister Sage makes it sound like they're plotting against Homelander
He reminds me of if they just stretched Peter Dinklage out.
Watch Punisher season 2,it's better than season 1.
Also, watch Jessica Jones season 2 and watch The Defenders.
I think the T1000 stabbing people in faces was a bit much for a 7 year old. I mean, it didn't do damage to me, but I could see it being too much.
Also Jessica Jones season 2 is a marked step down from 1. That's the problem with a B-tier character: they used her one and only good story in season 1. I've heard 3 is better but 2 put me off it enough that I wasn't much interested moving on with it.
Terminator is weird kinda like the Halloween movies where theres already over 5 parallel universes in the movies,
its getting kinda dumb.
Hmm, may rewatch Romulus since I've only seen it the one time.
See I've been trying to get you to watch resurrection since you did your watch through, and you are now admitting that the movie is growing on you as it moves along into your psyche. Just want to say, welcome
It's not a good movie. But it's an INTERESTING one. 3 was bad and boring, 4 is bad and has hints of entertainment.
I will always root for Resurrection, even if I know it's a bad movie. It has some wild and weird charm to it that I like
Sure, they look absolutely amazing.... they are fucking complete dog shit though. Even taking out the equation of them being Alien movies they make 0 sense and suck your brain out through your ear with a straw.
anyone who likes 1 over 2 isnt a real fan
That's probably the most frustrating thing about them. You want to do something different, explore your own thing? Fine. Stop ruining Alien in the process, though.
XD
Oh come on. As Alien/Aliens fans, we have got to be better than this.
= (
Sigourney don't miss sucka
Well, I wouldn't say Resurrection is the BEST, just that it's my favorite :/
Xeno getting facehugged was potentially the funniest part of this show, now it knows what it is like to be on the receiving end.
Do we still think Ocellus will implant itself in Boy Kavalier by the end?
Florence was amazing in it.
What the heck. What happened to your childhood, TC? How are you only watching all these movies now?!
T2 was my first ever R rated movie >_>
Blew me the fuck away.
I havent seen it in awhile but I think it ended fine. Like theydealt with the seasonal bad guybut obviously didnt manage todo anything about Skynet.
There was more that was supposed to happen but its really not that big a deal.
And how often do you get to see Terminator stuff that isnt the exact same plotline?
I forgot this was one of the shows that died from the 2007 Writers strike.
I doublechecked and the cliffhanger is when the groupjumps ahead in timeto the distant future.
Making it about as good a place to wrap up as possible given that most shows during the writers strike just got canceled.
I don't think Morrow is a good person. He's a company man through and through and when that company is WY, you can't be a good person.
But this episode made him a lot more sympathetic. Not only was he seemingly the only competent person on the crew, it was clear that he was still very much trying to keep the crew alive. The mission was still first, but he wasn't the ice-cold person who would sacrifice the crew that episode 1 implied he was. He didn't enter sacrifice mode until the situation was completely FUBAR. At that point he couldn't have saved the crew if he wanted.
And you say he shouldn't have done Zaveri like that but, he kinda had to. Even with not letting Zaveri in, he still only barely escaped the Xeno.
Hey glad you finally watched it TC. Been trying to get you to do so for a while lol
It's a weird movie. Weirdly sexual in a series that seems like it should be moreso, but never is. Everyone's horrible. Clone Ripley is weird. Everything is weird.
But I like the movie a lot. It's not a good movie. But it is a fun one. The underwater part is great and I liked the nu alien baby more than Romulus'
Also that basketball scene when Ripley lands that over the shoulder shot was done in one take and she nailed it. You can see the rest of the actors break because wtf how did she do that
Resurrection is just a bit too weird for me. I don't think it's bad, it still managed to be an entertaining movie. I really like the scene where the xenomorphs escape by killing one of their own. I thought that was pretty clever. But it's my least favorite of the classic 4 films.
I guess it's kind of dubious, since the xenomorph skull in Predator 2 is just an easter egg really. Like how Tyrell Corporation is mentioned in some of the Alien movies.
It's more like there are three separate canons, Alien, Predator, and Alien vs. Predator. I agree that Alien is totally separate from the other two. But it does look like Predator's canon is definitely merging with Alien vs. Predator's canon at this point.
The new predator movie has a full on weyland yutani synth according to the trailers so at this point alien looks to absolutely be part of predators canon.
Alien Resurrection is a terrible movie. Just terrible. But Sigourney Weaver hitting that basketball shot over the shoulder without editing makes the whole endeavor worthwhile.
Alien and Aliens are such classics, and Romulus is good. The other movies are not really worth the time.
I am enjoying the TV show so far.
Yeah that's what I meant. I'm predicting they want to transition from that into another AVP movie.
Man, I legitimately dont get the love for the film, but glad others found enjoyment out of it.
Even though TSCC ended with a cliffhanger, really how is that different from any of the rest of it?
Sarah Conner Chronicles was amazing.
You should definitely watch it if you have the opportunity.
Piranha 2. Then you realize James Cameron is an asshole for bashing the types of movies that gave him his start.
Going off memory here, but the T-1000 had a few problems with it.
1) It was meant for assassination, not front-line combat. It wasn't able to handle the same heavy weaponry that early Terminator models could.
2) One of the ways it was made so good at stealth and infiltration is that it had learning modules installed, which gave it a sense of self-awareness and capability for adaptability that other Terminators lacked (later Terminator models, like the T-800, also had these modules but always had them switched off unless some specific scenario required otherwise; this is shown in the extended cut of the film). However, Skynet feared this function - its own capacity to learn was what caused it to rebel against its human creators, and it was paranoid that Terminators that could learn would similarly turn against its rule. As such, T-1000s were seldom deployed by Skynet, were always monitored closely for any signs of betrayal, and were coded with instructions to self-terminate once their objectives were complete, so as to minimize the risk of the T-1000s growing too independent.
No it didn't, your account did. Turn off your censor and the link shows up just fine.
True Lies is fantastic. One of my favorites for sure. So fun and bombastic.
They are both very close for me. I always give the edge to Alien for being a full-fledged horror movie, but I don't fault someone for liking Aliens more.
Probably wouldn't let them watch my kids, but still.
= P
For myself, I think that's part of why I like Aliens better. I'm not the biggest horror fan, which is why I like the more action heavy Aliens better.
I've only seen the first two and Romulus. Everything I heard about the series made me assume that was the best way to go.
Honestly the Taskmaster thing reeks of meta influence:either the studio concluded that no one liked this version of the character and decided to simply off her for some "wait did that really just happen" shock points, or there were some behind-the-scenes issues with Olga Kurlyenko.
At that point I still wasn't sure whether or not I was vibing with the movie, so I was pretty indifferent to it.
No, the novelization goes further into it.
This is my ranking as well, though I don't think I'd do as much of the >s except the prequels since they were THAT fucking bad.
I blame Alien 3 for the hybrid Alien (yes I know about the Kenner toys) and I hated that
This is correct.
Didn't we have a poll a few months back that showed that regarding who thinks Alien or Aliens is the better movie, it is 50/50?
I don't remember that one, but I do remember the one with Alien and The Thing being split.
Also Skynet didn't really like making the T-1000 as it was a sentient independent creature and capable of making its own decisions beyond the control of Skynet, so it could potentially go rogue.
But I guess every movie has a rogue T-800 anyways so who fucking knows lol
I know Terminator Salvation always gets lots of hate, there were bad choices in it, but I like it and wouldnt mind seeing more of the future. It was a nice change over basically the same plot over every movie and show
The 6th Day is essential Arnold you should watch that before anything else.
2 seasons. Ends on a cliffhanger.
TSCC has my favorite John Connor scene in all the Terminator series and it was worth the wait. It just shows you why he became the leader."If you pretend to not know who I am, I might just shoot you."
You mean like in Aliens when the marines do the same thing.
You have the worst takes on these franchises
Resurrection went from being the most bonkers and silliest one, to having the most unsettling and emotionally traumatizing ending they could have gone with.
It was written by Joss Whedon. The crew is essentially a blueprint for the Serenity crew.
I love Alien Resurrection. It feels like I'm watching a comic book, I think that's where the weird dialogue comes from. I just imagine them with text bubbles and it makes sense lol
That's not the bad part. Giving BOTH Prometheus and covenant a 7 is.
I'm gonna be honest, I haven't seen most of the post-T2 films except for Dark Fate, which I liked, and a good chunk of Salvation, which I really wanted to like, but found it boring.
T2 is easily one of the greatest action/scifi movies of all time though. It's effectively a perfect movie.
I thought The Abyss was great too. A bit underrated too since no one ever really talks about it much.
Thethumbs upmakes me want to throw up.
Other than the creeping sentimentality, great action film. Though the relentless budget nastiness of the first film is superior.
T-1000s were hard and very resource intensive to make.
TTSCC is a great show and the only post-T2 media worth watching. Fuck Fox for canceling it.
It was a prototype. There were no others and it was created as the Resistance won, there was no opportunity to make more.
