The robot was one of the better droids in star wars

Jude law was great and his final reveal was well done

The kids were solid for what they are

The finale was really good

This show is aging well for me

Ngl its kind of annoying how critical this show is to the overall The Boys plot

Hardly and there's like no one that watches one show but not the other

Gen v ended up barely effecting boys season 4

Also my fiance is watching Gen v only and not lost in any way
So why couldn't Neuman have been Odessa as well
It came prior to Andor season 2 which was obviously better, so Andor stole some of its juice

It also followed up some mediocre shows like book of boba, Obi Wan, Mando S3, and right after the mega disaster of the Acolyte. So it kind of got tossed into those shows negative reception (even though everyone who watched it seemed to like it)

It had its own unique style, characters, plot. It was beautiful to look at. Very unique in the world of star wars but only enhanced the universe

I recommend people go watch it if they haven't.

It isn't the best of star wars but it's a solid watch

yeah, but if Keith somehow comes back next episode for revenge, he's likely gonna die by the end.

My guess he's for the plot in the future

I think this season ends in main universe

But his convo with Sister Sage makes it sound like they're plotting against Homelander

Could be both, if she can manipulate blood at a high level, she could do both
What am amazing episode. Short but damn the dad was good here too

Keith villain arc incoming
I liked it, another great episode
new episode drops soon

Show is good so far
I think it was a good show regardless of setup. Yes I want it to be more conclusive but it touched a lot of themes well enough

Also even if it doesn't get renewed, something happens on the island leaving the 2 xenos dead which makes yutani use the nostromo
Damn the rotten tomatoes audience score just tumbled for this

I liked this show tbh
Can he do aliens 2 please
Yeah season 2 should be greenlit but it's 2-3 years away.

I want seasons to be complete on their own if the follow up is that far away
Overall 8/10

Very high production values, some great Alien moments, touched on a bunch of lore/unique concepts and did most well. Not everything lands but a great addition to the alien-verse which is already a mess in terms of lore so it fits in perfectly with bodybuilder aliens/black goo/bullet ricochets/cloned from blood 200 years later with Alien pregnancy intact

My rankings

Aliens
Romulus
Earth
Alien
Covenant
Prometheus
Resurection
3

This does highlight the issues with tv though. Tv now has movie budgets and movie wait times but at least movies offer concise stories that end the immediate plotline like as in alien Romulus but a sequel could fully happen. This ends with a cliffhanger and a hope for a season 2 which hasn't been greenlit yet, nevermind scripts and filming
Excited to see if it lands the ending

Weren't bullets able to easily kill xenomorphs?

Surprised this one didn't get shredded by them
Solid start, continues off consistently with what came before it

I asked my fiance to catch up and she binged season 1 in one day.
Wonder if she gets cancelled by her dad who is a known republican
Well I started it anyways. First episode was solid enough

If season 2 is good enough I'll watch 3, if not I'll skip

If Luke cage actually gets confirmed to return, I'll check it his show too

If iron fist actually gets confirmed...I'm still not watching his show

Watch Punisher season 2,it's better than season 1.

Also, watch Jessica Jones season 2 and watch The Defenders.

I watched defenders. It was mid

I am not touching anymore of punisher after season 1 plus I had enough for born again
I am a huge MCU fan and know she is coming back in Daredevil.

I watched season 1 and thought it was solid (7/10). That said everyone agrees that was the best season and I'm lower on it than most

I have watched of the Netflix stuff

Daredevil
Jessica Jones Season 1
Daredevil devil season 2
Defenders
Punisher season 1
Daredevil season 3

Hated punisher season 1 and didn't care enough to watch it on anticipation for born again. Just read a summary of season 2
It's more ignored than retconned

Tbh alien lore has been a mess even before Prometheus and Covenant

It seems like you can still say as of episode 5 all of it takes place in one universe
The xenomorph has been inconsistently written for decades now

I think the T1000 stabbing people in faces was a bit much for a 7 year old. I mean, it didn't do damage to me, but I could see it being too much.

Also Jessica Jones season 2 is a marked step down from 1. That's the problem with a B-tier character: they used her one and only good story in season 1. I've heard 3 is better but 2 put me off it enough that I wasn't much interested moving on with it.

I'll still check out at least S2 and then will go from there. I liked 1 enough that 2 is worth a shot, especially with her returning

See I've been trying to get you to watch resurrection since you did your watch through, and you are now admitting that the movie is growing on you as it moves along into your psyche. Just want to say, welcome

It's not a good movie. But it's an INTERESTING one. 3 was bad and boring, 4 is bad and has hints of entertainment.

I will always root for Resurrection, even if I know it's a bad movie. It has some wild and weird charm to it that I like

Ok you win this one and I'm super tempted to move my 6/10 to a 7/10. The ending did work for me. I don't even consider it a bad movie but a very dumb one. The whole cloning thing is a leap too big for me, even in a franchise with black goo and bodybuilder aliens

I don't think Morrow is a good person. He's a company man through and through and when that company is WY, you can't be a good person.

But this episode made him a lot more sympathetic. Not only was he seemingly the only competent person on the crew, it was clear that he was still very much trying to keep the crew alive. The mission was still first, but he wasn't the ice-cold person who would sacrifice the crew that episode 1 implied he was. He didn't enter sacrifice mode until the situation was completely FUBAR. At that point he couldn't have saved the crew if he wanted.

And you say he shouldn't have done Zaveri like that but, he kinda had to. Even with not letting Zaveri in, he still only barely escaped the Xeno.

Fair enough

One more minute and he would be fucked
Kaldrenthebold posted...
Hey glad you finally watched it TC. Been trying to get you to do so for a while lol

It's a weird movie. Weirdly sexual in a series that seems like it should be moreso, but never is. Everyone's horrible. Clone Ripley is weird. Everything is weird.

But I like the movie a lot. It's not a good movie. But it is a fun one. The underwater part is great and I liked the nu alien baby more than Romulus'

Also that basketball scene when Ripley lands that over the shoulder shot was done in one take and she nailed it. You can see the rest of the actors break because wtf how did she do that

Yeah I remember you telling me in every alien topic. Much better than 3 but it's still the second worst alien but then again I liked everything else.

The normal guy bouncing a bullet was also...something.

Then there was the guy who woke up only to have a final scene chest buster. Glad for once they shot up the chest buster.

I preferred the Romulus hybrid way more. That thing was freaky. This thing was some temu xenomorph

GeneralKenobi85 posted...
Resurrection is just a bit too weird for me. I don't think it's bad, it still managed to be an entertaining movie. I really like the scene where the xenomorphs escape by killing one of their own. I thought that was pretty clever. But it's my least favorite of the classic 4 films.

I guess it's kind of dubious, since the xenomorph skull in Predator 2 is just an easter egg really. Like how Tyrell Corporation is mentioned in some of the Alien movies.

It's more like there are three separate canons, Alien, Predator, and Alien vs. Predator. I agree that Alien is totally separate from the other two. But it does look like Predator's canon is definitely merging with Alien vs. Predator's canon at this point.

That was a good scene and I expected it to happen, the xenomorphs are really perfect like that

Gladius_ posted...
The new predator movie has a full on weyland yutani synth according to the trailers so at this point alien looks to absolutely be part of predators canon.

I'm ok with them being seperate, mainly because I haven't liked the predator stuff

Alien Resurrection is a terrible movie. Just terrible. But Sigourney Weaver hitting that basketball shot over the shoulder without editing makes the whole endeavor worthwhile.

Alien and Aliens are such classics, and Romulus is good. The other movies are not really worth the time.

I am enjoying the TV show so far.

Look alien, aliens and Romulus being on a class of their own in this franchise isn't something you'll get too many arguments. It's just how bad you think everything else is

Going off memory here, but the T-1000 had a few problems with it.
1) It was meant for assassination, not front-line combat. It wasn't able to handle the same heavy weaponry that early Terminator models could.
2) One of the ways it was made so good at stealth and infiltration is that it had learning modules installed, which gave it a sense of self-awareness and capability for adaptability that other Terminators lacked (later Terminator models, like the T-800, also had these modules but always had them switched off unless some specific scenario required otherwise; this is shown in the extended cut of the film). However, Skynet feared this function - its own capacity to learn was what caused it to rebel against its human creators, and it was paranoid that Terminators that could learn would similarly turn against its rule. As such, T-1000s were seldom deployed by Skynet, were always monitored closely for any signs of betrayal, and were coded with instructions to self-terminate once their objectives were complete, so as to minimize the risk of the T-1000s growing too independent.

No it didn't, your account did. Turn off your censor and the link shows up just fine.

I wish the movie itself told me all of this. It makes sense but the movie should communicate this as well

This is what I wanted of this show. Felt like alien/Romulus.

Eye creature is the GOAT

Why is everyone suddenly cheering more for Morrow. I understand he was with incompetent people but he still shouldn't have done Zaveri like that

Also the creepy bald guy knew someone was getting up, destroying the ship and was just ok with it because he could pleasure himself to a sleeping girl

Honestly the Taskmaster thing reeks of meta influence: either the studio concluded that no one liked this version of the character and decided to simply off her for some "wait did that really just happen" shock points, or there were some behind-the-scenes issues with Olga Kurlyenko.

At that point I still wasn't sure whether or not I was vibing with the movie, so I was pretty indifferent to it.

It wasn't Olga, she was excited to continue. Definitely studio
