I started with Alien which was solid, though a bit dated. Lore seems good. 8/10

Aliens is a masterpiece. 10/10. I know a lot different. Lore additions such as queen are natural progression.

Alien 3 is crap. Xenomorph lore is mostly intact but killing key characters offscreen is terrible. How Ripley got infected while frozen is Bs. So xenomorph queen laid a stealth egg? Infected Ripley without her knowing?

Alien resurrection. Not sure what I watched but didn't hate it. Dialogue is nonsense. They could clone Ripley from her blood including the alien queen that was magically implanted in her. Ripley close is an alien-ish. New queen has Ripley's baby and didn't need to go the face hugger method. 6/10

Prometheus/covenant- Enjoyable enough but lore additions are terrible. Black goo. Bodybuilder aliens. Questionable if xenomorph is naturally occuring or made by engineers. 7/10 for both

Romulus- best since aliens. Did the best it could with nonsense lore before it. Alien black goo being isn't anything that different tbh. I thought it was freaky, it worked and it worked in this franchise of nonsense. 9/10

Alien Earth 4 episodes in- no rating until finished but the xenomorph is now a cell in the face hugger (was it always or was it black goo before).

It seems like there is no overall Alien board of members and instead each director just makes up things as they go along. I can't believe how divisive each titles additions can be when the nonsense started with Alien 3

Resurrection was probably my favorite just because of how over the top and rambunctious it was. It was a genre flip for sure but by that point I think the series benefited from that. Also the ending scenes were just straight up freaky af

dont forget predator and the shit it does with the lore

namely reduce xenomorphs to kill fodder just to prop up yuatja (i hate how the predator franchise treats the xenomorphs)

Probably most controversial thing is giving Prometheus an 8/10, but I like the movie more on rewatching it.

Resurrection went from being the most bonkers and silliest one, to having the most unsettling and emotionally traumatizing ending they could have gone with.

Through the turrets + explosions during the escape after Burke's betrayal, there were barely any Xenos left. Hence why Ripley was able to save Newt.

But yeah, the most advanced future weaponry is capable of killing Xenos, but based on the setting, effectiveness will vary. If fought in space, a blown up Xeno's blood will eat through a hull and expose people to a hard vacuum, making confronting them a losing proposition anyway. And of course, Xenos are capable of stealth, which is usually their most deadly means of conducting business (seen most obviously in Alien and Alien 3). If they get the jump on someone, human or Yautja, it is game over.

I love Alien Resurrection. It feels like I'm watching a comic book, I think that's where the weird dialogue comes from. I just imagine them with text bubbles and it makes sense lol

For myself, I think that's part of why I like Aliens better. I'm not the biggest horror fan, which is why I like the more action heavy Aliens better.

I think that's non canon. Also the alien franchise is way better. Tried the franchise for the first time recently as well. Only predator 1 is decent

Hey glad you finally watched it TC. Been trying to get you to do so for a while lol

It's a weird movie. Weirdly sexual in a series that seems like it should be moreso, but never is. Everyone's horrible. Clone Ripley is weird. Everything is weird.

But I like the movie a lot. It's not a good movie. But it is a fun one. The underwater part is great and I liked the nu alien baby more than Romulus'

Also that basketball scene when Ripley lands that over the shoulder shot was done in one take and she nailed it. You can see the rest of the actors break because wtf how did she do that

At least not to Alien.

Resurrection is just a bit too weird for me. I don't think it's bad, it still managed to be an entertaining movie. I really like the scene where the xenomorphs escape by killing one of their own. I thought that was pretty clever. But it's my least favorite of the classic 4 films.

I guess it's kind of dubious, since the xenomorph skull in Predator 2 is just an easter egg really. Like how Tyrell Corporation is mentioned in some of the Alien movies.

It's more like there are three separate canons, Alien, Predator, and Alien vs. Predator. I agree that Alien is totally separate from the other two. But it does look like Predator's canon is definitely merging with Alien vs. Predator's canon at this point.

Alien Resurrection is a terrible movie. Just terrible. But Sigourney Weaver hitting that basketball shot over the shoulder without editing makes the whole endeavor worthwhile.

Alien and Aliens are such classics, and Romulus is good. The other movies are not really worth the time.

I am enjoying the TV show so far.
An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it.

I agree with this. The ending was interesting. This movie is kind of aging well in my brain which is wild because it isn't good and the dialogue is atrocious

See I've been trying to get you to watch resurrection since you did your watch through, and you are now admitting that the movie is growing on you as it moves along into your psyche. Just want to say, welcome

It's not a good movie. But it's an INTERESTING one. 3 was bad and boring, 4 is bad and has hints of entertainment.

I will always root for Resurrection, even if I know it's a bad movie. It has some wild and weird charm to it that I like

Should be higher for aliens. Just nostalgia. The space jockey scene is the best scene though (until Prometheus when it turns out that it was a space bodybuilder)

Resurrection had a couple truly unsettling scenes and the baby is really horrific looking to me. The lore of the basketball shot is also great. Too bad everything else is forgettable or hokey.

You can clone people now from blood with memories and infections intact. Make them better than before. The Queen now has a vagina and can create human/xeno hybrids
