Its funny, I was in my early 20s when it came out and when I first saw it advertised, I was sold on the concept. I still think one of my saddest moments as a gamer was when EGM did their April Fools prank and said Square was working with Nintendo again to have Mushroom Kingdom Hearts. I wanted that to be a thing so bad lol
I feel like people lump the GBC together with the regular Gameboy so it gets kind of lost in the shuffle as technically being its own thing with exclusive games for it.
I dunno how close WoW Classic is to the actual original experience but it was a very annoying time sink. Training weapon skills, having to mine nodes multiple times instead of just getting everything from one in one click, failing at gathering, no mount until high levels. Possibly the most annoying thing was using flight paths, the closest thing to fast travel, and having to get off at every stop, and start another flight until you get to your destination.
I have a pretty strict "no snitching" policy
I live in San Diego, so going by that, NYC edges out Philadelphia
I've been on here about 20 years, but lost an account bet on the NFL board 12 years ago going by the age of my current one lol

Super Mario World.

It would be All-Stars, but I always disliked what they did to the graphics in SMB and Lost Levels. Looks horrible to be honest.

The older I get, the more I agree. The rest of the games kept more or less the same art style, just more colors, better backgrounds, etc. All Stars stripped SMB of its personality completely. The worst part is yes, Lost Levels mostly looked like SMB1, but it had its own unique tiles and backgrounds (and blue Bowser), and that all goes away for All Stars, especially with world 9 that in the original version was supposed to be reminiscent of the minus world glitch in the FDS version of SMB1
SMW, but All-Stars was REALLY hard not to pick. SMW is my favorite Mario game, but 3 of my other favorites on one cartridge made it really close.

the issue is that you only ever see the bad stuff, or the stuff that's available for you to use for free

the good shit?

the good shit is terrifyingly good

This still has an uncanny valley quality. They probably went w/ shades to work around the eyes usually being a dead give away, but the motions still are off and have an alien quality to them.
Tech bros really do salivate over the death of art.
The whole point of the movies was they were created by Mike Myers, and he played multiple roles.

so but that is still mostly tax money paying for it right, just different wording? snapdragon like that asian ramen company, the only one i know that is remotely close to that name.

Well they're bonds issued through the CSU system and get paid back, it's not like tax funded stadiums ever have that tax money paid back directly. Snapdragon is a Qualcomm brand of systems on a chip. I guess they decided Qualcomm Stadium yet again would be weird.

they recently built a new stadium after a threatened move? What percent did the taxpayers pay , of the new stadium?

Snapdragon Stadium is owned by SDSU as part of their SDSU West expansion, so it was paid for by donations and bonds to be paid back by Stadium revenue.
As a San Diegan, this already happened and I'm still pissed. Instantly stopped following the Chargers.
They started doing that out here sometime during covid restrictions. But yeah, now there is a kiosk where you swipe your card and place your order, and the workers there just call your number when its ready. I guess whatever it takes to keep that hot dog combo $1.50.
The republican nomination? Yes. The presidency? Not sure. Trump does best when he's NOT in the spotlight and he's been even more psychotic and rambling at rallies while mixing up names of everyone he hates so when it comes down to brass tacks, with the economy recovering, i have a hard time seeing moderates and independents taking a chance on him again. He advantage in 2016 was being an unknown factor, everyone is acutely aware of the chaos a Trump administration brings now.
Big "I have studied the blade" energy here.

If Biden called his wife "Janice" we'd see 10 articles about it for a week. But Trump calling his wife "Mercedes"?...nothing. Not a peep from the MSM.

Trump EMPHATICALLY mixed up Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley and that barely made news. Like it wasn't even a little slip, he blamed lack of security at the capitol on Haley in a speech.

Lmaoo welcome

Its a hell of a racket. "I need a lightstick for THIS concert", I can't say shit though, with all the Star Wars stuff I have.
My wife got into KPop randomly last year. Now I have Stray Kids stuff everywhere lol
There is tons of old, lost media because masters were lost, or taped over, etc. Not every movie ever made is available on current devices. Old albums that never got a reprint are collectors items.

Tolkien also had a huge influence on other things, like music. Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, 2 of the biggest bands ever, had songs inspired by LotR, among others. And you can't downplay the impact he had on storytelling in general, not just in fantasy. He had an impact on other genres, and other mediums, as well. Pretty much all fiction post LotR has, at least subconsciously, been influenced by Tolkien.

Very true. He basically set the standard for world building in fiction.

He didn't lie about what it was worth. He said it was worth x and the bank agreed. And then the loan was made and he paid it back. The case wasn't even brought by the bank, but people using the justice system against their political rivals. This was a cival fraud case, not about taxes my dude.

He literally lied about the size of the properties and based his "evaluation" of his own property off of the value of other, larger ones.
It's kind of impossible to say, you'd have to break up genres. Tolkien basically codified modern fantasy with The Lord of the Rings for example. Almost everything after is inspired by or a reaction to it in some way. When you think of fantasy elves, dwarves, etc, that's kind of the starting point.
People will keep saying Biden is senile, and then he runs circles around republicans to the point he got Kevin McCarthy booted by his own party lol
It's honestly a very small minority, but the awful ones are so bad they can ruin an entire day.
Once in 2019. I had a lot of fun, but is is definitely expensive as hell, and crowded.
No. I know how to (took auto shop in high school), but I live in an apartment complex, so doing all that in a parking garage and needing to dispose of everything is a pretty big hassle. Just have an auto shop do it for cheap.

There's a lot of great things about America and cities aren't one of them, they have have some cool shit in some cities but mostly they suck. Like I love Chicago food, and you can't have sports teams without cities and you probably won't be getting any cool concerts near you without cities, etc. but they are also overly taxed, crime ridden cesspools that will try to take all your money, whether it's the politicians or the fellow people.

You're such a candy ass. oh, cities are SCAAARY.

Lol is this real? They found like the worst possible picture of Trump AND put that goofy ass picture of him in a truck for good measure
Yes. I'm replaying Remake on PS5 and Intergrade in the lead up.

Duke Nukem 3D. I don't think I need to say why.

Sure, we will have homages to it like Ion Fury and Turbo Overkill, but we aren't getting a new Duke Nukem game.

The problem with Duke is if Forever came out and they played him up more as a 90s relic, it could have been funny, as opposed to just doing the same dated humor.
"299". Absolutely killed the Sega Saturn in one line lol
It looks good from the trailer. Very much in the style of the classics. The James Brown joke actually made me laugh.

I'd imagine that interest in Peanuts among people under the age of 40 is probably very low.

I dunno, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" are classics, and the comic strip ran for 50 years, so multiple generations were exposed to the characters. I wouldn't be surprised if kids that grew up on them even in the 80s and 90s showed them to their kids.

this is 100% it

"the female doesn't look like a plastic doll in the exact proportions i think she should have?? the game is woke trash and i'm gonna send death threats to the developers and the voice actor and the character model used and"

they're also the ones that tend to throw an absolute tantrum when a games port or remaster or remake changes something, usually desexualizing some child character or even just giving a character longer pants.

hell, the absolute tantrum people threw over square changing tifas design, about how some made up mistranslated ethics department made them tone down her sexiness

and then square revealed the character and they just gave her fuckin thigh highs lmfao

I remember very specifically weirdos pointed this out in the Chrono Cross remaster and you could no longer see a child character's panties in a certain animation. They were trying to argue "I'm just against censorship in any form", but it was super weird. Tifa's redesign was funny because she still had pretty big tits, honestly, but they were realistic big lol
A little. It seemed like Microsoft buying up companies like Bethesda and Obsidian was their big play to get some exclusive, system sellers.
That stupid baseball mini game guaranteed I'd never 100% it lol
I haven't finished the third one, but the first two are a lot of fun.
