Also he has no comprehension of positioning in the new game. During his fight with Mega Victreebel it kept spewing poison globs that would stay on the floor and he would just keep walking into it, summon his pokemon in to it and not understand that this is bad. He calls the system bad because he doesn't understand that he has to dodge enemy attacks.
I swear, his cognitive decline is palpable. Even a 6 year old could either predict standing in the blob is bad or summarize that having stood in the blob it is bad.
Pokemon is not a complex game compared to soulslikes with intricate combat systems, stat distributions and what have you.
Its like his mind doesn't even attempt to grasp what is happening, he is completely checked out playing games and just goes through the motions while his reflex is to get angry at things going wrong.
I mean, if you look at videos from Phil when he started his journey, you could tell he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, but he at least showed he had some basic problem solving skills. Now booting up a device is a challenge for him.
