Yeah tons of companies are making it harder to talk to them over the phone. I was having trouble with ez pass and I kept getting these automated messages telling me to press a button which never helped. Then when I got a real person they would literally hang up on me and not help at all. I had to contact one of my state representatives and they called too and got hung up on. It was a whole fiasco that could have and should have been solved with an easy 5 minute phone call. This is all designed to frustrate the consumer to the point where they just give up and accept whatever false charge they are being charged. And don't get me started on those text chat things.
