It's not even that far from satire.

Just look at what happened to former New York City High School teacher Matt Striker.

He learned that Kurt Angle was putting his 1996 Olympic Gold Medals (that he won with a broken neck) on the line in what he called The Kurt Angle Invitation. Where he would challenge anyone to wrestle him and if they lasted 3 minutes they would win his medals.

Matt Striker accepted the invitation but was destroyed in seconds like most of Angle's opponents

Most of the world was impressed with Striker's determination and bravery but not Benjamin N. Cardozo High School which punished him for his independent thoughts and ambition by firing him on the spot for not conforming to dull gray mediocrity.

Instead of giving up after being fired however, Striker doubled his efforts and trained harder than ever before challenging Angle once again to the invitational. This time Striker to the fight to Angle and shocked the world when he almost won the Gold Medals. Losing literally in the last second as Angle applied his devastating Ankelock more out of desperation than domination.

It's no surprise that Angle refused to ever challenge Striker again to an Angle Invitational. You have to wonder what might have happened if they had a 3rd match as Striker was only getting better with each passing week.

And you gotta believe not much has changed since then or since the Simpsons. There will always be people telling you to be like everyone else, aim low and don't try to be different, don't be yourself. But that's not how men like Matt Striker OR Kurt Angle are made. You have to stand out from the crowd and if you believe in something push yourself to be the best that you can be.
