Not because of what goes on in the video clip (no need to get into a religious argument here), but because of how hilariously stupid the "intellectuals" of YouTube are in responding to an obvious parody video. Reading the comments feels like choking on an undigested slice of hypocrisy.

From what I heard, the KoL tour has been Radiohead's best in a long, long time. Which makes me all the more pissed that I missed it.

Any word on new recording dates for those guys? They're all getting old, but I'm hoping they have one good album still left in them.

^ the place to be for music fanatics.

Great, I'll have to check that out.

Bach and Wagner? That's kind of a strange pairing.

What is it about their styles that you like? Being a fan of Bach, do you also enjoy music from those like Vivaldi?

And Wagner... good stuff, surely. But what about composers like Brahms and Mahler and Richard Strauss?

Well, Bach and Wagner are both German, and I like how they complement one another: Bach's music strives for the characteristically Baroque over-intellectualization, while Wagner's music reeks of Romantic emotion. I made an iTunes playlist a couple months back that goes back and forth between the two, and it's really neat.

The others you mentioned are all composers I really need to listen to more often. If you have any suggestions, I'd be more than happy to give them a listen!

what about Debussy and Ravel and Poulenc and Satie and

Debussy and Ravel are awesome. Haven't heard of Poulenc.

As for Satie, more like Sati"eh" am I right

What kinds of music?

Lots of jazz, chiptune, certain rap groups (UGK, Z-Ro, basically anybody from Texas), and I have soft spots for Bach and Wagner. Favorite artist is Coltrane; favorite band is Radiohead.

I notice you didn't mention the Astros

That's intentional <_<

It's sort of become a joke franchise, and I was never really big on baseball to begin with. Regular season seems like farming to me.

It just sounds odd to me that when you don't have an account, you would choose B8 of all places to lurk. I don't even know what goes on here but I don't think it's interesting enough to just lurk without an account. >_>

Well, I have an account now, and since it's spring break, that gives me plenty of time to post! (Once I get enough karma to remove that damn post limit, anyway).

Hello. Tell me of your gambling preferences. This is important.

Well, I play most of the more common events pretty often (aka Hold 'Em, Roulette, Blackjack), but my personal favorite is Craps. I like how it's a perfect mix of mathematics and social interaction: there's no rush like having a table of twelve people all rooting and hollering against the house!

Been a long time lurker to this forum, and finally decided to make an account. Seems like a well-knit community where everyone knows each other, so it only seems right that I open up a bit! Some basic stuff you might like to know about me:

-As you can tell by my username, I'm big into "the sports." Texans/Rockets homer all the way.

-My two life passions are music and philosophy, which puts me at the 98% percentile on the Pretentiousness Scale. Yes, I wake up every day realizing I'm working to become professionally unemployed.

-I'm fairly into Western animation, which, by extension, makes me a brony. Sorry.

-I smoke cigars, drink frequently, and enjoy gambling. I'm not a role model. Aside, best food is cheesecake.

So that's a basic picture of myself and my interests! If there's anything important I should know about this board before doing something stupid, please show a newbie around. Cheers.

Lots of similarity in the style. If you took RLM, erased any serious commentary, and just kept the sarcastic approach/trolling/intentionally incorrect info, then you'd get these guys.

romney lying isn't a conspiracy theory, it's a period of time for what he said to become unpopular. >_>;

By "lying," there's a difference between a) what Romney actually believes is best for the country, and b) what Romney believes will get him votes. Once you get elected, you're still obligated to follow through on campaign promises (unless you want to shut down Washington and guarantee a one-term presidency), so I see no reason to believe that the official tax plans aren't good starting points here.

And yeah, Romney's flip-flopped a lot. Such is the life of a shameless pragmatist.

He pushed for Romneycare in Massachusetts, so probably on the healthcare.

Different constituencies means different political pressures. There's no way Romney would push for anything remotely resembling Romneycare.

Raise income taxes? Sure, Romney might do it in exchange for another pound of flesh- say, another couple trillion dollars injected into the economy that first goes through the banks.

His official tax plan says otherwise. You can accuse him of lying, but then that falls squarely into the "conspiracy theory" category.

It's not like Obama has made a serious attempt to raise taxes either- it's mostly just a talking point to appear like he supports the 99%.

Again, look at the tax policy for his potential second term. Big hikes in a lot of places, high-income earners and businesses especially.
