The flash-sideways is majorly underrated. No, it wasn't just some Shyamalan twist; it was an alternative medium to develop and flesh out the cast even more. Granted, some episodes accomplished this better than others- compare Lighthouse to... whatever one Sawyer's was- but this was equally true of the flashbacks and flashforwards!
All the points made against the Island plotlines, however, are spot-on and what really brought down the final season. And man, why did the big reveal have to be an island buttplug? -__-;;

Season 6 sucked because despite being a show "all about the characters" it wasn't at all about them and was just a big dumb metaphor for good and evil and everything in between. The entire purgatory stuff was a complete waste of time. And then any answers they had were a big fat disappointment in the way they presented them and showed that they didn't even f***ing care about that aspect of the show and just felt like telling their stupid story about their Jacob and Man in Black that everyone would have completely s*** on had it been in any previous season.
Also, Jin had a mother f***ing child and could have lived god f***ing damnit Jesus.
This. ****ing this.
I still cringe whenever I go back and watch Across the Sea. Truly embarrassing.

LeBron's showboating last night just showed how absolutely immature he STILL is, which will prove to be his undoing against San Antonio. Calling it now.
Someone's been watching First Take I see.

LeB****'s block on Rondo was a blatant foul for starters. And hell, the T on Rondo was absolute BS. Those are both second half, there are more but those are the ones that stand out the most. And Boston would have been winning by 10 to 15 points in the first half if not for the officials, so being down 2 kinda sucked for them.
1) There were misses on both sides, as there are every game. For example: Turiaf got called for a moving screen that was so obviously not moving that even JVG laughed at the replay. These things happen.
2) Miami went 1-for-3 on technical foul shooting in the first half and then made the Rondo T in the second. That's a swing of two points.
3) Boston wasn't down two at the half. It was tied 46-46.
Your trolling is starting to deteriorate, so here's a tip: if you're trying to rile people up, it's best to stick to ambiguities and generalities instead of using numbers and specifics that are factually wrong.

Let me be the first to apologize for the shameful performance I put on tonight. I was barely able to account for a third of our team's point total, and I was only able to outscore the Celtics for one quarter. I feel embarrassed knowing that I had to be carried by Shane Battier to victory, but I will try to do better next time.
You got carried by the refs as they called about 34 technicals on Boston.
Do you mean 4 technicals? And there were no questionable calls in the second half, and seeing as the game was tied at halftime... yeah.

Well, this has been some legitimately terrible officiating, so looks like MWC has his out for tonight's performance.
"Lebron had a decent game, but it wouldn't haven been enough to give his team the win, which is what matters. As usual, leave it to the refs to bail him out."

The system, as D&D describes it, is pretty stupid. I prefer the way Megami Tensei uses the system. Lawful people want, essentially, safety and order even at the cost of freedom. Chaotic people value freedom more, though it means losing the laws and order that protect those who can't protect themselves. Neutral people are a lot less common because of this (most people lean one way or another on this argument), but the few neutral people there are either uncompromising idealists, or people who just don't care. Good is called Light and just refers to having compassion for others and enjoying helping them, Evil is Dark and is for anything ranging from selfishly not caring who suffers so long as you get what you want, to actually enjoying hurting other people, and Neutral mostly consists of self-interested people who aren't outright selfish and show a decent amount of empathy.
People end up falling all over the chart with that system, and I think it's just a lot easier to relate to than the "Evil means you worship devils" sort of thing D&D goes for.
Came in to post this; love SMT. Either way, I end up somewhere closer to Chaotic Neutral.

Huge game, who takes over. Wade. So that means he is AT BEST the third best player on his own team.
This was the exact reverse result of Game 4. If Wade deserves the credit for this game (with Lebron's "poor performance" of >25/6/7 + 3 steals), then Lebron must out of consistency deserve credit for G4.
Again, topic delivers beautifully.

So I read elsewhere that this is apparently a good ol' 2D Metroidvania with some gimmicky camera stuff. Can anyone confirm? Because if this is indeed a pure 2D Castlevania, it'll be a day-one import.

From: xp1337 | #006 The hit on Wade was definitely a foul. You can argue if it was a flagrant, but Wade clearly gets hit and was bleeding after.
Haslem should have been called for a flagrant 2 though.

Clean block first. Him being clubbed upside the head (while ****ing awesome) in no way affected his shot, which was going no where. Incidental contact, play on.
I'm sorry, are we actually acting lkke the game Kobe had last night was not better than EVERY game LeChoke has ever had in the playoffs?
Lebron literally had a better game two days ago.
Only if you're an idiot and comparing rebounds for a forward and a shooting guard...
Not rebounds, no (although that's a huge plus in Lebron's favor). It's more that he was the undoubtedly superior leader: whereas Kobe continued to try and carry his team without getting them involved, Lebron made a conscious effort to get Wade going early (an integral part of the Heat's eventual win).

He kind of faked in it a semi-suicidal manner complete with body of formerly terminally ill patient who offered to help him, and he switched records so the body would come back as his, then rode off into the sunset with Wilson free of his life for the first time ever
Wow, that sounds horrible.

My honest advice: keep sleeping with her and enjoying your lapdance-breakfast hybrids while proactively searching for a more serious partner. You get great sex and home cooked meals, and she gets the kind of emotional abuse and degradation she's looking for. It's a win-win!

Emporer_Kazbar posted... From: whatisurnameplz | #012 This isn't going to happen, or at least not the way it is now. The 8th amendment says fines can't be too big. ...it couldn't happen anyway, because there's literally no physically possible way any combination of anything in the entire world could pay it.

Felt like going on a bit of a SEGA binge, so in addition to buying a Model 2 Genesis (my M1 is infinitely better, but variety never hurt, right?) for $20, here are the rest of my buys:
Sonic the Hedgehog - $1 Columns - $3 Space Harrier 2 - $3 Golden Axe - $7 Crusader of Centy - $20 Sparkster - $30 Sonic Spinball w/box - $2 Street Fighter II' w/box - $5 6-button controller: $7
I'm worried I might have overpaid a bit for either CoC or Sparkster, but given how rare those two are, I didn't feel right leaving them on the shelves. So was this a good haul, or an overly pricey one?

No he didn't. He made his billions off of his own intelligence, hard work, and willingness to take risks.
There are plenty of more intelligent, harder working, risk-seeking individuals who couldn't possibly have Eduardo's success simply because they don't live in America. Free enterprise is a powerful thing, and America is one of the few places that has the necessary combination of IP protection and lack of regulation, among other things, that made his success possible in the first place.
Even if you don't want to give the American economic structure its due credit (which seems odd coming from you), at a bare minimum, it was the American public (i.e. taxpayers) who got his project booming. Paying his taxes seems reasonable.
In any case, he doesn't owe any back taxes. That's WHY he's trying to renounce his citizenship, which is a perfectly legal way to avoid having to owe taxes.
Circular reasoning. The question isn't whether or not it is legal, it's whether or not it should be legal (to do freely, at any rate).

PrinceReva posted... You don't have to be clutch. Just not be the very opposite of clutch. Don't shy away in the biggest moment.
Don't know if you caught it, but before the game tonight on ESPN, they had posted the career postseason stats of MJ, LeBron and Kobe "on game-tying or go-ahead shots in the final 24 seconds of the fourth quarter and overtime."
"In his playoff career, the Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant is 7-for-27 on game-tying or go-ahead shots in the final 24 seconds of the fourth quarter and overtime. Thats a field goal percentage of 25.9, which is below the league average of 27.2 percent, and pales in comparison to his teammates over that span." - ESPN.com
and in that segment on air tonight, they had shown that LeBron is roughly 33% and MJ was 41% in such situations. So, Kobe doesn't get any flak for being less clutch than LeBron, but having a few championships with his team mates makes him a better player?
Why are you using numbers and logic to argue with this clown? We all know you're right.

They don't actually owe anything. You shouldn't have to pay the government in order to get permission to leave.
Sure you should, seeing as Eduardo made his billions off of American free enterprise. This country fostered the conditions necessary for his success; him paying what's legally owed is hardly an example of "tyranny."
As Ron Paul says, be careful about building walls, they'll probably be used to keep us in.
Yes, the libertarian paranoia credo: "Any and all government intervention is an inevitable step towards the slippery-slope of absolute oppression."

If taxing people for income earned outside the country is legitimate, why are we the only developed country who does it?
I seriously doubt this is the case. Even if it were, it wouldn't change the fact that we have a major national budget crisis, and making the rich actually pay what they owe is a good way to start fixing the problem.

If Congress was TRULY wanting to prevent expatriation by eliminating tax incentives, theyd lower the taxes. But thats not what they want. They want to make it clear that we are their property, and that resistance is futile.
Just to be clear here: you believe that the democrats aren't simply trying to collect the taxes owed by the ultra-wealthy, and are trying to make some 1984-esque point about treating people as property?
Because that would be silly.

You're switching the argument to something I wasn't arguing against. Vlado said MLP sucks, you replied that certain things in the show (namely the animation and writing) are "objectively pretty excellent." That's what I was arguing against.I have no problem with the stance "if Vlado thinks MLP sucks, he doesn't agree with the intersubjective opinion that MLP lives up to established standards of quality."
Ah, right. I clarified after the fact that I was using "objective," for lack of a better term, as shorthand for a "less debatable" point (something that wouldn't conform to accepted norms by general intelligent taste, in other words). If all you're getting at is that MLP's writing cannot be objectively good or bad in the strict sense, then we're on the exact same page.
