Well, I've been the pedestrian in an auto-pedestrian accident, but that didn't really hurt all that bad. I broke several bones, but I had a lot of adrenalin going and as soon as I stated to feel it they got me morphine. In fact, here's me after waking up from some surgery or other:



I was all chipper until they had to do surgery on my left shoulder, and that sucked but didn't hurt too bad.

Um... Crushing my fingers between scissors handles hurt a lot, and my brother slamming a chair on my foot hurt a lot, but being a kid in general hurts a lot. I do remember both of those things hurting more than getting hit by a car, though.

Does everyone else have the choice of these passive bonuses, or just me? If I can sleep from 11-5 and have it feel like I slept until 8 that's super unless I'm the only one awake. Who cares about the hours of the day when you're totally isolated from the rest of the world? Those may as well not count.

It's starting to look like fast learning may be a winner if I'm the only one who can get a bonus. After a certain point, intelligence in terms of my-brain-can-beat-up-your-brain doesn't really matter. But the faster you can learn, the faster you can do pretty much anything. You can go to a new city and spend less time being lost. You can get promoted more quickly at work. You can remember people's names and faces and interests better, which is a huge social benefit. Learning more quickly isn't just about school. It helps everywhere and may be the actual best choice.

What field are you in and do they pay you a lot for it?

Computer science. They pay craploads. I had an internship for $20/hr and that was the lowest number I heard among my friends.

I'd feel really really awkward radically adjusting my spending habits. I don't think my tastes would all of a sudden get vastly more expensive. I think I'd just... you know... not worry about what things cost. I'd probably sell my condo and buy something nicer, but other than that I think my life would be a more convenient version of itself.
