No man should ever have that personality, but being a woman I don't particularly have an issue with Samus being that way. People get upset with it because we're in the infancy of the equality movement. As a culture we've accepted that females are equal to males, but we've yet to accept that equality is not the same thing as being identical. You are predisposed to behaving a certain way based on your gender, but the world wasn't ready for a truly feminine action hero and everyone expected Samus to be more manlike.
I'm also fascinated by otherworldly creatures so that was a draw to that game for me, things like deep ocean life and prehistoric creatures interest me and Metroid's aliens are very reminiscent of them. Our own planet is a lot stranger than we think.
TP was generally well received. It is a bit of a let down after playing Wind Waker, but it's not like the game bombed or anything, people just don't like it as much as OoT or WW.
Who said anything about Other M? I do like that game but there was another Metroid game this generation.
The Wii Remote/Chuk is great without motion controls as well though. You could entirely remove its motion controls and it would be a very good controller, its modularity is actually very novel in of itself and it's unfortunate that the Wii U is going back to a monolithic controller that doesn't allow your hands to move independently of each other.
I don't have a PSP but I can see that, I can't imagine -gaming- more on it than my DS though. But this is what Sony has done for the industry, introducing the game console as a multimedia device. I don't think this makes it a better game console per se, but it is something Nintendo could learn from. Unfortunately the Wii U is going to use a proprietary disc rather than something standard like Blu-Ray, but I'm still pretty excited for it.
YetAnothrShadow posted... Are you sure you haven't just been seeing one of Ulti's numerous posts?
He is the worst offender but he isn't alone. I don't understand where the hate comes from, can you imagine how stagnant the game industry would be without Nintendo? Look at all of their innovations that Microsoft and Sony have copied, does anyone think they actually have the creativity and insight to keep things moving forward? The only improvements they know how to make on their own are in terms of fidelity, system horsepower, they don't understand the actual mechanics of games at all.
This is why it's so important that Nintendo makes so many good first party games, they use that experience and knowledge in building their systems. Sony and Microsoft only have a few notable first party games and I doubt those people even have any input in creating a new system. Anyone think Fumito Ueda is overseeing the development of the PS4 like Miyamoto does? Yeah, probably not. Anyone remember how we got the first Xbox controller that was big and heavy enough to double as a lethal weapon? Focus groups. The PC gaming crowd has a good claim to the top, Valve's Steam has been brilliant and has rejuvinated a gaming platform that I once considered dead- but it's indisputable that Nintendo is the best console producer.
I've been seeing a lot of Nintendo hate here as of late and I really have to wonder where it's coming from. A lot of people saying the Wii is bad but this system has had two of the best Mario games, a good Zelda game, a good Metroid game, an actual Donkey Kong Country instead of some dumb rhythm game crap, Brawl, games like Metroid Prime and Pikmin updated with better controls, and many unheralded gems like MadWorld. Really? What gives? The sales numbers don't lie, Nintendo -destroyed- this generation, and this isn't even mentioning handhelds where they remain the uncontested king. Is hating on Nintendo because they're popular just some cool hipster thing or something?
Yeah that's pretty dumb. I think what PP did was silly but it's their right as a business to do what they want, hacking them is not a reasonable response to disagreeing with their policies.
It's too bad it has that size and obviously isn't shaped for your hands like a GC controller, I actually really like Nintendo's new analog stick that they used in the 3DS and are putting in the tablet. I like the resistance it has a lot more than how loose most controllers are. But the tablet really doesn't look appealing to me. Not that you need amazing control to play Smash anyway, but it just doesn't look comfortable for -any- game. The Wii remote was actually really novel in its modularity, I hope it remains the main controller for the new system.

Classic controller isn't very good. Better than the Wii Remote or Chuck to be sure, but it's no replacement for a GC controller. SSB4 is pretty much dead before it can even get started knowing that those are your options or the tablet.
Some of the monsters that existed during that era are more impressive to me than the dinosaurs, it was almost like an alien planet. It makes me wonder what earth will be like hundreds of millions of years from now after our time has passed.
Well I'd figured out that much from this topic I guess. I don't see why anyone would be surprised no one had heard of them, soccer isn't exactly popular in the US. Or women's sports either for that matter.

Apart from an upset of the food chain across varying oceans nothing huge, although someone with more knowledge on the aspect could come in and call me on that one. Me, I'm a big fan of keeping as many species alive as possible and all that. I'd probably be willing to sacrifice a few hundred humans in the name of a beautiful and unique species; blue whales are the largest species on Earth, after all!
I don't know the exact ecosystem but if you look at the history of the earth I have to say one species going extinct isn't a big deal in the long run. Life on this planet has survived some ridiculously brutal trauma where 75% of all species' of those times were wiped out, the ocean can surely handle blue whales disappearing.
Maybe not at first but if it comes to that and you continue to be a part of it then yes, it's your choice. It's a free country(until people like TimJab get their way), you don't have to work for an organization that does shady things if you don't want to.
you can't seriously be implying something as stupid as what i think you're implying.
I'm implying that if my job suddenly required me to start feeling random people up against their will for no particular reason, I would find another job and I'd think any other decent person would as well.
Weakupedia posted... hypocrisy? regardless of whether you like the TSA or not, this is far from hypocrisy. it's their JOB to keep airports secure, however inappropriately you think they're doing it.
This is like saying don't blame a hooker for being filthy and potentially diseased because it's their job. People have a choice in their line of work, no one is forced to go out and be a professional perv.
TimJab posted... you would be one of the people to complain about TSA
i guess we should just let 9/11 happen again
A) The stalking is getting really creepy, you don't have to follow me into -every- topic I make or post in y'know
B) By sacrificing our freedoms and dignity in this manner, we are letting the terrorists win. We are moving more towards a totalitarian police state(you would love this) as a result of our fear of being blown up.
Alleged, she denies the incident entirely from the article I read. I just googled this when I got home as a reference. The hypocrisy of it is delicious.
Maybe it wouldn't be a he said-she said situation if someone had recorded the altercation but they claim it's unlawful to tape the TSA molesting people.
I don't think it's racist to say that Africa is pretty worthless, it's just a bad area to live in- American and European black people are pretty awesome.
It's called Terra's theme but all of the scenes that are important to Terra use a different arrangement of that melody IIRC, that theme is the world of balance world map theme.
Play something with some absurd difficulty, only time video games actually scare me is if I'm nearly done with something stupidly difficult. As far as "omg something jumped out im gonna die!" I can't think of any game that I've gotten that into, for horror games I just like stuff with creepy atmosphere like Silent Hill.
Nah, no plans of buying any consoles in the future either. It doesn't make sense to me anymore when half of them aren't even backwards compatible where your PC games will still be playable for ages. My PS2 itself is also in kind of questionable condition and I have no idea how much life it has left, so no BC is kind of a deal breaker to me.
I haven't played Xenogears and given how expensive it is at this point I probably never will :( Also been forever since I played CC so I forgot Dreams of the Shore was a world map theme. I definitely would have listed it otherwise, it's one of my favorite video game songs to play on the piano.
You cant dispute things like Fable, which again, on a very consistent pace, has come out and sold 2 and 3 million units a pop.
"lol"
Zelda sells 5+ million a title, Mario will sell 5 million for a terrible sports game that has PS2 graphics and probably took like 4 months to develop. Try again M$.
GameCube controller is the only useable controller, it's going to be interesting to see how quickly Smash 4 dies when you can only use a Wii remote or the tablet.
