Wait a second...something just came to mind.

As the fastest among our group, I was long entranced by that most vigorous of dances. Eventually, it began to rain, and by the time I came to my senses, the shrine maiden had disappeared. No one died last night. The flavor text mentions Reimu, which is Chris. Scum would most likely target Chris, yet he didn't die. CMIIW, but Chris mentions that he isn't bulletproof. Does this mean...uhh, a scum protected Chris? But what for? Perhaps the scum faction wants to make Chris exterminate towns? That'd be too risky, though, as Chris shot a scum on the first day. Or perhaps the scum didn't try to attack him? But that doesn't make sense either. This also probably means that the scum doesn't have another assassin, as they'd kill two people otherwise.
