That so-called half a game still holds a longer story than any other single-player venture Square ever set out to make. That so-called half a game still manages to get its point across as well as possible given the budget and deadline issues and provides players with virtually every answer necessary by game's end -- undeniably truncated to high heaven as various otherwise-enormous plot points might have been it still pulls it off or I wouldn't like it so damn much.
That so-called half a game has a hell of a lot of problems thanks to what happened back in 1998 but I can't in good conscience call it 'half a game'. 70% of a game that would have been thrice the length of FFVII, maybe? That sounds like a better title for it, don't you think? I don't want to take over someone else's topic with a long Xenogears debate, so I'll just make my final comment thusly: Xenogears Disk 1 was an impressive, expansive game with great battle mechanics, a gripping story and likable characters. The fact that it was so amazing made the obliteration of its pacing and failure to provide an epic conclusion all the more horrifying. If a game gets me all hot and bothered, it had darn well better follow through! That is all. -- Official Queen ***** of the Universe! |

Curse of the Black Pearl was one of my favorite movies of all time. In the sequels, the story and characters went down the tubes, and now it's all about fancy footwork and sword fights, with only the inherent awesomeness of Jack Sparrow keeping the sequels partially entertaining. But even Depp could not save the third movie from being unwatchable.

I liked the first season a lot, but when they tried to tie up all the loose ends after being cancelled in S2, it just started going too fast without explaining most of what happened. The individual episodes of Dollhouse are good, but the entire premise and plot are just way too far off the reservation for my taste.

When I see a topic like this that makes such a fascile argument, I can't help but wonder if the average human mind is simply incapable of wrapping its neurons around how huge the economy of the world is now.
Yes, the government spends a lot of money. It spends more than the entire world produced at any pre-20th century point in history. You can make illustrations of lots of money in big stacks to show just how much that is. But that only appeals to emotion, not reason. The US needs to reduce its debt, but comparisons like this only provoke knee-jerk reactions that can do more harm than good, like those ninnies who think that the US not raising the debt ceiling by August 2nd is a good idea. -- Official Queen ***** of the Universe! |

I'm sorry that you and your girlfriend are going through a hard time now. It's great that you're being supportive of her choice even if you don't wholeheartedly agree. It sounds like you are doing the best you possibly can in an unfortunate situation, which is all anyone can do. Yeah, you made a big mistake not using a condom, but at least it's a mistake you aren't likely to repeat. I hope this situation turns out as well as it possibly can in the circumstances.
And that sucks about your aunt, too :( (Furthermore, anyone here expressing anything less than sympathy because of your "antagonistic" past on this board or your political beliefs is majorly lacking in class. I'm not sure how to react to The Old Republic. I like the premise, and I like Bioware, but I don't want to invest my time into an MMO, and I prefer single player games in general. I'll probably try it out, though.

MP3 encoders take the CD as input and compressing it into a "lossy" format. The CD is of higher quality than the MP3. You will always lose some audio quality when compressing to MP3, but the higher the bitrate, the better the quality (in general). If you must use a lossy format like MP3 to store music, you may as well use the highest bitrate out there, unless file size is a concern for you.

You might just want to know how it all ends, but 6 and 7 are nowhere near as good as Harry Potter at its peak (books 3-4)
