Aldi has been using these e-paper/e-ink price tags for a while now. They don't do "surge pricing" or whatever bullshit, but it's more that it's probably cheaper to update pricing in the long run than printing new prices on paper and having to manually switch it out (at least when it comes to labor).

One common defense of the rich I see is "we can always increase the size of the pie, we don't have to fight over a share of the current pie". Is the extra 0.2 trillion the increase in the size of the pie? The rest all seems like a direct transfer. Either way, it all went to the rich.

That isn't something that can be solved since OLED screens are organic self-emitting lights and thus it will naturally degrade over time just from use. What LG did do was improve upon how long the wear and tear lasts via stuff like increasing the red subpixels etc.

QD-OLEDs just recently came out but these type of OLEDs look to be glass-canons and that you sacrifice longevity just to have that higher brightness.

In that case I'll just wait for microLED. Should be common five or so years from now.

I stopped buying plastic cases long ago since I wanted to minimize plastic use as much as possible. I've got a nice set of glass containers that I use for everything. I also wash and reuse glass jars that used to store food products so I can use them to store miscellaneous things.

I saw something recently that a bunch of companies like McDonalds, etc would be lowering their prices because a lot of people just stopped buying it like they used to. I mean they're already making super high profit margins when the food was priced fairly, they just got too fucking greedy. Don't even get me started on the shrinkflation of most FF restaurants, its abysmal!

That's the PR release they gave out to pretend that they're thinking of the customer, but in reality all they did was release a half-assed $5 meal "deal", simply copying off other fast food places that have already had a $5 meal deal long ago, except the mcdonalds one is even less value. Even then the franchisees complained that it was too cheap because the mcdonalds corporation leases to them at ridiculous prices. Mcdonalds is a real estate corporation masquerading as a shitty food franchise.
