Its like we live in different worlds. We had two weeks of that kinda weather in July.

So terrible. I think about the loved ones of the dead and of the ones still in hospital.

Some more info: the driver had made a fairly long drive from the island of Vaxholm to the city and was on his way to have his daily break when the accident happened. That is what we the public know so far. They are also gonna do a technical investigation of the bus.

One thing I want fans of the first movie, but who havent seen the musical, to know is that part 2 has a very different tone and vibe. Part 1 is quite joy and wonder while part 2 is more lump in your stomach.

Since there is chance, or risk (depending on your personal opinion), of snow in the coming days.

Still no word on what happened, but the bus was not in traffic (as in not being used to transport passengers) when the accident happened. If the driver was on break or about to start a shift is so far unclear. At least 3 people have been confirmed dead now.

Multiple dead and injured according to the media. The bus driver has been arrested but no suspicion of a terror attack or similar.

The incident happened on Valhallavgen on stermalm, which is a central area of the city. Poor souls and their loved ones. On a Friday afternoon no less.

I'm so excited to see this. I know nothing about the musical, so I'm going in blind, but part 1 was fantastic.

My only issue is, I don't know if they're going to be able to top 'Defying Gravity' for me. That was such a powerful end to part 1

Defying Gravity will always be fucking legendary, but I think that you might love a song in part 2 equally. Everyone is singing that songs praises, me included. But dont look up the original versions of the act 2 songs if you wanna remain spoiler free.

I never watched the Broadway Musical of Wicked, do you think I'll have a better appreciation of the movie if I do or will I hate it? I still think the first movie is a 9/10 btw.

You dont need to watch the musical to greatly enjoy Wicked: For Good. The movie follows the layout of the musical with some extended and expanded on stuff. But people who havent seen the original Wizard of Oz movie from the 1930s will be a bit lost at times to be honest.

I cried multiple times during part one (mainly at the ballroom scene and the ending) and I never cry at movies. Ever.

I'm looking forward to the recast of Wonderful which includes Glinda in the scene.

It is absolutely wonderful! Glinda being there both makes sense and makes it a much bigger and deeper moment.

Nice! My GF loves the musical (and Part 1 of the film duology), so Im sure Ill be rewatching Part 1 and then seeing Part 2 before the end of this month.

Honestly, Im looking forward to it as well. Ive seen the play, and I thoroughly enjoyed Part 1

The new renditions of the act 2 songs are great and the new songs add a lot imo. My opinion about one of the songs in the movie: Cynthias version of No Good Deed is absolutely mindblowing.

This will come down to personal taste. The two acts are very different in tone but they are one story. I love both parts so hard.

It is so fucking good, just like the musical, but everything gets enhanced since its a movie.

See part 1 just before you see part 2 and also watch the original Wizard of Oz movie if you havent. To get the full experience.

Blueberries and raspberries work well with eggs imo!

And, yes, what I mean is that our political class have been making huge changes quickly lately. For good reason. But that is also why I dont rule out them suddenly getting very eager for us to have our own nukes. Since lets face it, we as a nation always wanna be the best. If were neutral then were gonna be the most neutral of them all. And now that weve joined NATO were already spending more on defense than long time members of the alliance. The pendulum swings hard here.

Sweden will be able to make a load of money mining it, modernizing their reactors, and selling it to the US, UK, and France for their arsenals. You raise fair points. Never underestimate rightful Swedish fear of Russia though. We had the 4th largest air force in the world during the Cold War and it was to be able to defend ourselves against Russia. Which is also why we came <this> close to finishing our own nukes back then. It has come out in retrospect that our military went even further than ordered by our government regarding the nuke programme.

What a weird way to twist things and take this discussion in a completely different way than it actually is.

Im merely bringing up aspects that make us increasingly pro-nukes on the highest political level. Since that is what were discussing.

And I grew up in a military family so Ive probably been pro-NATO longer than you. And to use your level of reasoning: saying that we shouldnt get nukes is being pro-Russia since that is one of few things they actually seem to fear.

We probably should use this opportunity to get nukes. So we can glass Moscow if needed.

I hope youre right, but nothing would surprise me anymore regarding defensive measures. We went from never joining NATO to we must join now! and opening up to NATO nukes on our soil during war.

I agree about independence.

It might sound silly but with the way were spending huge sums of money on our Armed Forces these days and with S and M being in agreement on Russia being an existential threat to us I wouldnt be surprised if there are movements in the nuke direction. We almost built some once upon a time after all.

Edit: We also chose not to implement the no-NATO-nukes-on-our-soil clause that the other Nordic countries have.

Sweden had almost finished our own nukes in 1965 but the government chose to shut down the project, allegedly after getting promises of protection against Russia from the USA.

Since the USA no longer is a trusted ally I wonder if the goal is to revive our nuclear weapons programme?

Canada has a stronger claim honestly. The country has a land border with an EU country.

I think it would be fun if Canada gets to join, but that is not how it works. The European Broadcasting Union is an old organisation based around shared radio and TV-cables which prevent most of the world from full membership, but some countries like Australia are associate members and can compete in Eurovision if they get annual invites from the EBU and from the host country. Australia has been getting that every year since 2015. I dunno if Canada also is an associate member or if they need to go through that process first.

Israel has been a full fledged member of the EBU since at least the 1970s. That is why they have competed in Eurovision since.

I live on a moderate coastal climate so like most of the trees are still full and leafy. Though I'm surprised to see more red/orange this year for some reason.

Here the red and orange was mainly in September.
