I think it's still important, not because any of there is going to switch, but because some of them may stay home.

As incredible as the degree of lunacy Trump is displaying here even by his own standards is, that's really not important. Once important is that his audience, the people who came here specifically to see Trump, are completely unengaged with it. This is not a riveted audience. This is not what they expected to see when they came there.

The current conspiracy is that they fully intended to write off Tango right after HiFi came out because they expected it to tank, and that it doing so well was actually a problem for them.

But the more public reasoning from insiders is that Tango wanted to make a new video game, and Microsoft wasn't interested in starting any new games so they shuttered them.

I saw others say they were completely satisfied, so I'm certainly giving it a full chance! I would be regardless given the preview material seems strong.

There are now official English subs for Girls Band Cry directly from Toei up for streaming exclusively on some Indonesian paysite.

I guess I worded that weirdly. What I meant was that a lot of stuff about DA2 when it came out was really bad, and it had a ton of problems and bullshit surrounding it at release, but I liked it well enough anyways. if you played it more recently it's likely a much better experience.

So when people talk about how DA2 was a nightmare and ruined Dragon Age, some of that reasoning no longer applies.

I've watched it a couple of times, looks better each time.

It's funny, I ignored the first 1/3 of the trailer as it was starting to because "oh look another doomed wRPG, I bet Spyders is making this".

Then the eyes just bulge when the gameplay starts.

If this has just been a CG trailer NOBODY would care about it. Gameplay matters.

Contrasting with all the good things I'm hearing about Losing Heroines, I'm hearing very mixed things about Crossdressing Senpai (avoiding actual story spoilers, just getting general responses).

Finding out it's a Webtoon that hard rushed to an ending and left a bunch of threads untouched, not a great look. Still going to give it a try.

Naw the Dragon Age games do it.

I think it's going for a look and doing it well. It's just weird seeing a jRPG style game without that aesthetic in sight. As mentioned before, this feels like that Lord of the Rings FFX clone in a way.

My only issue is I hope the blood is a toggle outside of the relevant cutscenes. A lot of games with excessive blood let you toggle it because it always looks like shit.

"Real time" is a loaded term here that could mean a lot of things, especially when combined with "dodge", but that could just be a timing thing.

When DA2 came out it was absolutely flooded with all the worst EAisms of that console generation, right down to the online pass.

As someone who still liked DA2 when it came out (besides the constant asset repeats), playing it recently isn't the same as when it came out.

So it's turn based, but you do take actual combat action within. Will need to see more to really understand.

I get the logic. It's one of the only scenes (.....the only scene?) with our 3 leads in one place. It is an efficient clip.

Inherently, though, a scene like that really needs....context to matter at all. That's just common sense.

Thankfully, Kumiko and her regular group themselves are strong enough to hold everything up, and a lot of the new students are very fun! Mayu's presence here and the emotions the show wants you to pull from here are fascinating. I find myself going through the exact same emotions Kumiko herself is going through; Why are you here? People like you and you've done nothing wrong, I have no problem with you as a person, but you've disrupted things, and you know it, but there no reason for you to feel bad about it.

A characters who's lack of antagonism makes her a pseudo antagonist at no fault of her own. I love it.

I love Kanade to death and she's been excellent where she's been here! I feel like she's been used a lot? Maybe I'm not feeling that as much because I JUST watched all the year 2 stuff right before S3 started so I've gotten plenty of her.

Speaking as one of the biggest Life is Strange fanboys on the board, I'm not super excited about the new Life is Strange. Really should've used a new character, then I'd be hyped. Max has too much baggage from the first game, too much potential for them to trip over themselves and ruin the new story by disrespecting the old one imo

All I've heard from LiS fans for years is everything after the first game sucks and they want Max back.

But I'm full outside observor on this one. Could be just a vocal minority!

I just played DA2 (which was great) and the DA4 trailer felt pretty similar to me

I was neck deep in DA2 at the time (me and a friend played it for like 15 hours at launch side by side on different TVs) and remember liking it fine. However the general reaction to that game I remember was people thinking it was franchise endingly terrible.

As someone who doesn't care much about DA, I seem to have heavily underestimated how much people seem to hate that Veilguard trailer.

I'm just wary of 2024 Bioware in general, but it seems that the tone in that thing is nooooooot what people wanted!

I thought I remembered DA:I being advertised similarly, but it's been a while.

2 different games starring a black womam, grifters are gonna be shitting their asses for weeks.

I'm fully willing to shit all over my principles and beliefs for Delta.

I am very disappointed that the gameplay here isn't intentionally low framerate.

The cutscenes look great, but the transition to gameplay is extremely jarring. Would look way better if it all looked like the cutscenes. Maybe that will be a toggle?

That said, this is Infamous for Xbox, cool! Not like we're gonna get a new Infamous for real.

What I would assume is an enormous AAA game like this releasing less than half a year after it's first non-developer interview behind the scenes reveal is pretty nuts!

The game itself is absurdly late, but you still tend to expect a year for stuff like this post reveal nowadays.

Nothing here for me yet, but what's got me extremely intrigued is that they've already gone through almost ever major game I would expect from this 15 minutes into a 2 hours showcase.

That Dragon Age date is wild.

Time to take bets on whether the game is any good.

I'm mostly curious to see if Phil Spencer mentions Tango and Arcane closures and if he actually says anything about XBox transitioning to a multi-platform business instead of a console maker.

This stage does not feel like the atmosphere at all unfortunately.

Anime is so good this season....it's an all timer. It'd take some effort to go back and sort old seasons out for direct comparison, but I don't think I've ever been approaching an end of a season this consistently satisfied. Sticking with 12 shows all the way to the end is wild for me....

The "first look" for video game shows and movies definitely seems cursed. That first Fallout clip was one of the worst clips in the show and had people dooming and glooming. The Twisted Metal first look was just as awkward and stilted. Could possibly be true here.

But I doubt it. I think this is going to be legitimately terrible, especially because it's a movie.

This is just a western popularity poll, it definitely doesn't have any actual influence. It was at #1 for 2 weeks, though (in a row at least).

At least 3 main characters are regularly in the Top 10 characters poll, though. All 4 this last week I think.

I'm guessing that the GBC licensing thing had something to do with music licensing issues, but who knows really.

But, like, all the music is licensed in the west outside of the show, it's even got English subtitles from the distributor in the music videos!

That could still be the issue though, from the shows I've been watching recently I've found out that even the karaoke subs in anime is a completely seperate licence from the songs themselves, and in some cases is license in a per song basis. On HiDive, some of the Bang Dream songs just randomly wouldn't have the subs.

Translating some of the Japanese comments from this tweet and it seems some of them are under then impression that nobody will license it because of Nina flipping the bird, and that the reason it is licensed in France is BECAUSE Nina flips the bird lol.

I don't think that's really the actual deal, pretty sure the guy is helping the girls get into their relationships with other people from what I have been told. I would assume the blue haired girl is the actual romantic interest down the line.

I would hope it was a Toei fuck up and not any actual simulcast platform, because if not then whoever actually passed at Crunchy or HiDive or whatever must feel like an idiot. Even looking at the Japanese comments and quotes, the lack of a license seems to be a well known issue even over there.

Also still very funny that Date a Live is always charting these things. Truly the Horizon Zero Dawn of anime.
