It was a media caricature. They actually had bigger brains than us (tho brain size doesn't always mean more intelligent, otherwise we'd have scientist elephants). I think the current understanding was that they were no more or less intelligent than modern humans. They were simply out-competed due to a differing social structure and physicality (they used stabbing spears because their arms didn't have the full rotation to make throwing spears effective, for example).

Personally, it just feels like an unnecessary change. As was said, it was brief thing so it doesn't mean that much for it to be gone....but their reasoning was just dumb imo.

I thought I explained it well, but the reason I wasn't upset over Sokka having that removed was that it wasn't really that key to his development. It was a short-staying thing where he was proven wrong in short order and it kind of stays gone. The most it does is imply the Water Tribes might be patriarchal in general.

Based on what your saying we shouldn't have obstacles in fiction at all. The argument here isn't that I like the sexism of the Northern Water Tribe, it's that it was written as an obstacle to overcome, as a flaw of that Water Tribe, and we follow Katara triumphantly overcoming the men who view her as inferior. It's a good element of the story in a bunch of ways, why remove that? Why make it less interesting? Is overcoming gender bias a dated concept?

OK, there was some great stuff in the 2000s and there will be nostalgia for that. It was a great time for the internet before normies took over and like I said before, it was also a great time for music and especially video games.

I just don't know if there will be cultural nostalgia for it, like there was from 90s, 80s, and 70s. I guess it could be seen like the 60s. Good stuff happened during it but there was also an air of uncertainty and turbulence.

Korean Feminism and Anti-Feminism are entirely different situations than what most people in the West think of Feminism.

All I know is that Korea has a huge anti-feminism culture compared to the West, like the hatred of feminism in Korea would put Western incels to shame. >_> So if there's one game company I can believe would fire someone for being feminist, it would be a Korean one.

Very early 2000's had some great cartoons that came in from Cartoon Network and went on Adult Swim which started in 2001.

I loved stuff like Futurama and Family Guy that started in 1999. Then when Adult Swim hit there was stuff like Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law and new episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast plus all kinds of other good stuff.

I had just gotten home from the military in 1999 and that early 1999 to about 2002 had some killer cartoons.

Yeah, the early 2000s were good. But the late 2000s, I'd say from 2005-2010 was an animation Dark Age. Other than Avatar TLA, it's hard to think of truly great cartoons from that era. (Western animation, anyway).

Also reminder that towards the end of the 2000s , Cartoon Network had that embarrassing CN Real period.
