Is the Battlefront remaster going to run at 60 fps?

I certainly hope so. If not, yikes Nintendo.

I have many fond memories of playing Blast Corp as a lad, but I'll be honest, the thought of playing it now gives me anxiety. It was a STRESSFUL game.

I drink heavily on the weekends and I've recently developed crippling anxiety due to this I believe. Trying to cut back now though.

But yeah, the anxiety, it's like nothing I've ever experienced before. Way more intense than any kind of social anxiety I've ever had throughout my life. It's an everpresent dread that makes anything good null and void.

Hell yeah, this concept has always been fascinating to me.

Bile spewers can appear out of nowhere and one shot kill you from like 30 feet away.

You can also get stun locked by multiple hunters surrounding you, or chargers even.

I've never understood why people will sit through mediocre / bad games just to see titillating images. There are plenty of places you can watch free porn that is more explicit and doesn't force you to grind your characters or sit through ads to see the sexy parts.

If you're looking to play as that lady you're going to be disappointing she's approximately one cm tall because the game is a tower defense game where the characters are towers.

Yeah when the game actually works it's some of the most fun I've ever had in a game ever. Just too bad it's been broken so much for me. Couldn't play at all all weekend.

Choose the planet and difficulty you want, then scan around for matches - it was already somewhat hit or miss in the first game ('Teleport boot failed"), I gotta imagine the crossplay aspect has only aggravated the situation

That currently doesn't work. Zero matches show up on planets currently.

Multiplayer just completely doesn't work for me now. Quick play does nothing. How is it worse than at release? It at least worked sometimes then. I'm gonna shelve the game for now until they fix it.

Follow the helldivers reddit to learn more about the server difficulties the game has had. Amazing game but they dropped the ball on the servers.

Match making is completely broken right now.

But when it works, it goes by difficulty level, so pick low level when you're just starting out and it should pair you with other newbs.

I'm literally watching Starship Troopers right now because I can't play cause of server issues. I'm a god damn addict.

I have often played in groups where nobody talks. Silent is very doable.

I would strongly discourage buying just for solo. The game is bad solo, it was designed for co-op. Solo is just for training and trying out a low difficulty by yourself just to see how it goes.

Also, keep in mind match making SUCKS right now, ever since launch, and it's hard to find games. So waiting until that is fixed may be in order.

How are the cosmetic options? Different pieces for body parts or just pick one costume typa thing?

There's main body armor, helmet, and cape slots. You get to pick your voice too, 4 total, 2 male and 2 female. There are unlockable emotes as well.

Have 5 opened since a buddy and I dive together on the weekends. Looking to being able to solo 4s next. Could probably do 6s and up with a full competent fireteam. I'm fine with randoms, but intentionally alerting every patrol and dying in 4s is comical to listen to as I run away to reinforce their bad play.

Yeah I hate players that engage every enemy. I'm marking them to avoid, not to kill!

What difficulty have yall gotten to so far? I've unlocked 7 but haven't tried it. Honestly 6 was already too hard. 5 feels right to me, challenging but not stressful.

Looks like there's microtransactions for weapons and stuff. I don't know how impactful the buys are, so can't say whether it's pay to win territory

It literally has the most generous free battle pass I've ever seen in a game.

In any other game, the paid battle pass has a ton of stuff in it and the free version has very little, like in Call of Duty or Diablo 4. In this game, the free pass is massive, and the paid one is a fraction of the size.

Probably just because it's an online only, co-op focused game and it's a small developer. Like, imagine the zombies mode of Call of Duty or something. Fun, but it's just that.

Or is it like Monster Hunter because you're doing the same missions a million times in a row to scrounge up enough parts to upgrade your weapons so that you can do the same thing in the next stage?

Both, but the creatures aren't all giant, many are dog sized.

To me it feels like the old games Army Men Sarge's Heroes.

It probably doesn't feel like MH to you because it's a fundamentally different genre of game and it plays extremely different on a basic level. So I totally understand if you don't agree with the comparison.

But the reason people compare it to MH is more from a design philosophy point of view.

Allow me to describe a certain video game. I'm not saying what game, just imagine it's a random video game:

In this mystery video game, you join lobbies with three other players to form a four person squad. You go out on missions that are rated in difficulty by number, going from 1 to above, and you slowly work your way up the levels as you get better skill and gear. You equip weapons that all play differently, and also sets of armor that not only have different stats and looks, but provide skill bonuses that effect gameplay. The game missions are each anywhere from about 5 to 30 minutes long or so. In these missions, you'll be fighting monstrous creatures in a variety of shapes, sizes and abilities. You'll need to have knowledge of these enemies to effectively fight them, as they can kill you VERY fast if you don't know what you're doing.

The gameplay requires a methodical, strategic, and planned way of playing. You can't just dive in and go nuts like a Dynasty Warriors game. Paying attention to animations is important, because you can get locked into one and so you have to plan when to do it. For instance, reloading a heavy weapon. Environmental hazards can slow you down, and you can suffer status effects that also mess you up. Success requires knowing your weapons, your loadout, and how to effectively dodge and avoid enemies. You also have the option of playing more of a support role, helping out your teammates, healing, etc.

You gain goodies after each mission, and slowly you can unlock more features to help make yourself stronger, thereby taking on harder challenges. Also, sometimes your allies will not ready up for the mission and that is very annoying.

Okay, all done. So which game am I describing? Monster Hunter, or Helldivers 2? The answer: Both of them! From a design philosophy point of view, they are very similar, even though in one you're swinging a giant sword and in the other you're shooting stuff with guns and calling in air strikes.

Imagine being in the world of Starship Troopers. That's what this game feels like. It's like my teenage self's video game dream basically.

And then the structure is like Monster Hunter. You team up in a squad of 4 to grind out missions and slowly unlock stuff. The gameplay is methodical, deliberate and heavy. Lots of tactics involved.

So this is basically a buy Helldivers 2 topic.

Game is pretty amazing.

Looks pretty different from the ideas submission.

Generally I'm not either, but this is the first medieval set like this to be fair. The blacksmith shop, both castles, and the viking village have all been big chonky 3d full sets. This town square is the first one to have that city style cut in half buildings.

Okay now I'm upset, I just tried looking at the same video on my desktop and it has the same old skip button I can push.

It's my new phone then. I got the S24. There is now no longer a skip ad feature. wtf

It used to be sure, there were long advertisements, but after 5 or 10 seconds I could skip them. You know, that little circle countdown thingy.

But now that's not an option, and I have to watch entire ads. This could include like 3 minutes trailers of movies, and here I am just wanting to watch a quick youtube video. What's going on here?
