You say that like being forced through the criminal justice system isn't already a huge punishment. Winning in court eventually won't erase whatever happens before that or get back the time/money spent on the trials.

Trump's been saying he wants a war with Mexico for a while now. He probably just means he wants to conquer Mexico (and Canada?) and turn it into a US-controlled territory, not an actual state with rights and so on.

I don't know much about Canadian politics, but it looks like it'd be 8 liberal and 2 conservative. The territories would probably all be liberal, but theit populations are so low that they'd have no chance at statehood.

What format are you talking about here in basketball? It's been the same 1 vs 16 set up for decades, and UMBC didn't have to go through a First Four match before facing Virginia.

I think he meant that UMBC was only a 16 seed (rather than a 15) because the First Four exists. Bumping two 15 seeds down and dropping two 16 seeds from the round of 64 means 16 seeds are slightly stronger (and more likely to beat a 1) in the First Four era.

Like, I could see Tulane and/or Army sneaking at the bottom of the rankings for consistently stomping the rest of the conference all season, but only ranking Tulane and having them above almost the entire Big 12 is just nonsense.

It's just stupid that this actually has a chance of happening. There is no good reason for Tulane to be ranked as high as they are. Their losses don't look very good, and they haven't really beaten any good teams. Am I missing something here?

Maybe shonen manga artists should just keep their series running until the quality drops enough that there aren't any fans left to complain about the ending. They'd get more money and there'd be fewer disappointed fans, seems like a win-win to me.

A lot of people believe the Trump rhetoric that it should be decided by states and claim they don't have any moral objection to abortion.

People just love the idea of small government. The issue doesn't matter, they'd prefer leaving literally everything up to the states rather than the federal government. If there was a movement suggesting abortion rights should be decided at the county/municipal level, people would support that instead.

Trump went from losing by more than 4% nationally to winning outright. Considering that, it's surprising there are that many counties that shifted away from him.

Even the presidents that don't have any audio/video footage to compare? How do you measure that?

Why are so many people convinced Trump is going to eliminate term limits? He doesn't really care all that much about the actual job of being president, just the attention and the immunity from prosecution. He doesn't need to be president for life to have either of those things at this point.

You do realize that unless there's another country willing to let them in, we're stuck paying to take care of them anyway? Trump's free to round up all the immigrants he wants, but then what?

Dems are going to need to flip at least 3 seats to take back the Senate, and looking at the states that are up in 2026 there just aren't enough winnable ones for that to happen.
