The mom and her sister and son died out the woods because they didn't know how to survive out there and were scared elites were trying to rule the world by controlling them with vaccines. Are most dubs cringe? Or are most anime cringe?

I watched a video essay on this and since then I'm convinced ever since then no matter what language you're shouting about the power of friendship/etc it's still cringe. Having it in another language just kind of hides the cringe.

Yes dubs used to be pretty atrocious in the 2000s but I think for the most part theyre pretty well done nowadays. Some things just work better listening to in your own language, comedy specifically.

Speaking of which, Monster's dub might be good? I've not seen it, but that's another one where most everyone isn't Japanese. It's set in Germany and only Tenma, the protagonist, is Japanese.

I'm not excusing them. I am however saying saying even if it happened it would have been shit because let's be honest it would have been like I said, one of their seasonal PVE events squared with tacted on skill trees.

If we truly wanted a good Overwatch campaign it would have needed to be a spin-off game in a different engine that focuses on one or two characters.

IMO, Kill La Kill is one of those shows that sounds amazing in both languages. I do agree that the Japanese version is a bit better, but it still has one of the best English dubs that I've ever heard and I think you can't go wrong watching it that way either

Yes but not really. I know exactly what happened. Overwatch 2 was more of an excuse to change the microtransaction system, change the PVP format to 5v5 and intended to have more of a single player experience BUT what I'm talking about is a separate spin-off game is what would be required, completely changing how combat is done. It would require focusing on just maybe one or two playable characters so that the game could thrive and actually be a fun single player experience and not just feel like one of their seasonal PVE events squared with tacked on ability trees.

I mean the characters are interesting but they would have to have a separate game and to be built from the ground up with a gameplay system different enough from the PVP that you would have to build it around 1 to 3 characters max.

Yeah they revamped the competitive system and now there's a new Tier above grandmaster called champion.

Everyone will have all the heroes soon, they announced it in a recent dev announcement

Dont act like you didnt entirely change your argument to east vs west after you were pressed on it.

Because while East and West are separate, there has been a lot of growing pressure from Western media to alter their games to fit Western sensibilities even during creation.

Also since the game is on par with AAA games It will get more attention. Hopefully enough to show other studios It's worth having an spicy woman every once in awhile.

I would believe there was no ulterior motive if there was more variation, It would be more indicative of personal choice. But yet we don't have like a single bimbo. They talk about representation all the time but there's no representation for women with calcium cannons or dump trucks.

And for those of you that nitpick and think it's a gotcha, yes I do mean Western AAA games. Eastern games are actually pretty well varied when it comes to body type.

I didn't pivot my opinion. Eastern developers have always catered to their audience. They don't have a bunch of regressive "progressive" busy bodies in their companies. They're actually aware that sex sells.

Too many AAA studios in Western countries are just full of people who think they're changing the world by adding in flat chested plain janes, etc.

It's why indie games are king . At least they have the artistic freedom to create unique things even when they are wandering from the social norms.
