Maybe non-gamers should start with simpler games, like side scrollers. People here are saying that their non-gamer wives can't use both analog sticks at the same time, so maybe try with just the d-pad

Side scrollers these days are pretty niche though.

Games that pick up traction among non-gamers are usually more casual "viral" successes like Fall Guys, Infinity Nikki, Animal Crossing, Split Fiction. Probably the way you control a character directly in 3D space is the most intuitive. Although Stardew Valley was an outlier in that regard.

Sometimes I think about prohibition era liquor laws, they were probably seen as "progressive" when they were introduced right. but now, here in BC we have new progressive policies being introduced to relax laws around public consumption of liquor in parks, and sale of wine in supermarkets etc.

That is why "progressive or conservative" is not really a great dichotomy for comparison, depending too much on cultural context to compare different nations.

In other words there are a large number of conservative people everywhere it just means something different depending on where you are in the world.

actually I agree in essence about home size. my home is not big, I meant more like I can have a garage and a small back garden on my budget if I live in a suburb which was important to me

neutral. get more house for your money but have to drive a lot.

JJK and Demon Slayer first season were like the prologues, no way they are better than the rest of the show.

vent topic. everybody talks about noise in apartments but I never had a problem this bad in an apartment.

I live in a suburb now and basically new neighbors' 3-4 kids plus adults are out in their front yard screaming all day every day.

no strata/management/HOA to complain to obviously since they are on their own property separate from mine. would love that option. so only line is to the police and I don't think they will show up for screaming children, if only they knew how bad it was.

I haven't seen the new series but I started with 00 and it was pretty accessible. 00 still seems to have some of the most popular kits. Orphans was okay.

It's better than most popular music from the time (and since then to be honest) but not a fan overall. Way too overplayed and that was a time when I was glued to MuchMusic (Canada's version of MTV) so I heard enough Green Day for a lifetime.

I appreciate the passion put into a turn based JRPG inspired game from a sort-of-independent studio.

But something doesn't line up with what I like about JRPGs. Something about how the 3D graphics are super high quality while the running and jumping animations are reminiscent of "Only Up".

There is this generic quality to all of the UI and overall presentation that feels like there is nothing that really makes it visually more distinct than any other western fantasy game like Forspoken, or Immortals of Aveum, or Dragon Age Veilguard. all games which were basically "style over substance" but without the style.

It's like the Demons Souls remake, it may seem petty but the fact that people overall actually celebrate that visual/art/sound direction in Demons Souls actually makes me feel sad and isolated.

Where? We were able to board/ski in March here in Michigan, but no chance now. Actually I guess the UP did get like a foot of snow a couple weeks ago and that might still be around.

Whistler! Went up today it's still rideable. I might go once or twice in May, downside is that it's a 2-3 hour drive and I am a lazy ass.

I was subbed to him literally like 14 years ago when he was making the "fun tactics" videos for mw2 and battlefield, funny how he is so huge now I never would have expected it at the time.

all men seem to know it's a trap. nobody wants them except the bride, and the more the bride spends, the more resentment builds. I think honestly it's really counterproductive to a good partnership in that sense to spend exorbitantly on a wedding.

I thought I was ghosted for a month and then the recruiter called me to tell me sorry, everyone was on vacation but I got the job. I ended up doubling my income which was pretty epic.
