If you really want to get down to it, Engarde was not eliminated as a suspect even if the initial evidence was planted.

On the other hand, if you want the real answer, the case isn't very well-written and relies on (a lot of) cheap moments to carry it.

Can you elaborate on this? The only version of FFIV I'm not all that familiar with is the DS remake. Every other version follows the same story beats and has the same character death fake-outs as the original.

The novel outplays William Adams' influence some (he likely only saw combat at the siege of Osaka), but for the most part you're right. I haven't read the novel in 20+ years, but I don't remember Blackthorne doing much throughout the novel, other than assimilate into Japanese culture.

I don't think William Adams saw combat at all (Wikipedia lists him as having been on a trade expedition during the relevant years and it seems he functioned like a merchant). Him being at either of the Osaka conflicts is a NiOh invention AFAIK (I mean, I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt it).

As for Shogun itself, yeah, on the surface it might have similar beats as The Last Samurai, but it's not really like that (Blackthorne is the audience surrogate; the story is really about Torunaga similar to how The Last Samurai was really about Katsumoto)

I think the first episode was a good enough reason for Bruce to retire (which is Batman pulling a gun on a thug). Putting Tim on top of that was not entirely necessary for that (what it really does is explain why he's by himself shut off from his former allies)

It's good advice, but you need to be accurate with what is and isn't within your control. If you're poor and struggling to pay your bills, no amount of worrying is going to change your immediate situation. You need to be calm and work out exactly how far you can get things to go. However, that doesn't mean you should throw up your hands and never strive to improve your situation.

Going by the way this topic is going a lot of people missed the point already and are still dwelling on things they can't control.

On top of that, Hamill also previously said he'd do Joker again for The Killing Joke, and he did (the film itself notwithstanding)

Introducing Fuji (I can't remember if that was her name in the novel, I assume it might've been) and Mariko early was an interesting creative decision. Having Mariko empathize with Fuji's grief and desire to die will be important later on, and Fuji herself ends up being given over to Blackthorn to be his wife later on.

EDIT: Oh okay her name was Fujiko.

Yeah I was surprised Fujiko was introduced so early, but they may as well (I mean, when she did finally appear in the book they act like she was always there). It's not the only 'new' scene, either (I mean, they are going 10 episodes, they may as well).

You know, something to also consider is if the President is immune, that doesn't necessarily extend to his subordinates. There is an actual difference between issuing an illegal order and carrying out one.

Maybe sometimes labels are not necessary?

I tried my best to understand what the labels are, but they're a little overcomplicated and overlap a lot that I just kind of gave up. It kind of read like a D&D rule book and I felt the pressure of the whole "rules lawyering" going on with regards to the fear of getting it wrong and offending someone.

She got fired by the city council. Not by the police department. I'm sure it it was up to the police chief she'd still be around.

I thought it was strange that the city council had that power, but apparently some do, according to a basic google search. I was under the general impression that the administrative positions were the ones up to vote.

The article does say the officer was put on administrative leave so yeah, the police chief didn't make the firing move, if it even was forthcoming.

I found out a few years ago that Lagoon was originally a clone of Ys I & II and the sword 'slash' was added for the SNES version. It made all the dumb fighting stuff in that game make a lot more sense (because the game was never designed with that in mind).

Technically she appeared in the pilot episode, but the pilot episode has basically nothing to do with the animated show that eventually got released. However, it does have kitty pride... even her dragon familiar.

That's the pilot for Pryde of the X-men which wasn't made a series. Notably the X-men arcade game was based off this.

Don't remember how long ago, but it was for 'spoilers without warning' where the actual spoiler was in the post I was quoting, and for whatever reason that post wasn't modded until after I pointed it out in the dispute.

Different style of game. Early FF/DQ games are turn-based, Ys has always been action rpg from my knowledge. It's also one continuous story unlike Final Fantasy, So it features the same main character, but each game has their own story confined to that one game, and barely mentions the previous games. So it would be like.... World of Warcraft in that regards. In Burning Crusade you may have characters from Vanilla but the story itself is kept within that expansion.

The games also jump around Adol's personal timeline quite a bit. Ys X takes place after Ys I & II and before IV/Memories of Celceta so this story features a 'younger' Adol (I think IX is the furthest along the timeline currently).

Although, to be clear, there is no reason to play the games in timeline order, or even in sequential order other than I & II (which are really one story divided in two). And that's beside the fact that currently there's no 'good' way to play Ys V.

I don't think anyone knows yet. The newest articles were written before the deadline and I haven't found one post-deadline yet.

Not really, finding of guilt is not required for 14th amendment purposes.

It is for this case since the Colorado ruling is contingent on it.

Without having a legal charge leveraged against Trump the 'insurrection' argument is hearsay.

Right now it seems like SCOTUS is going to side with Trump on the 14th ammendment issue.

I think the biggest hurdle was always going to be the part where Trump wasn't charged or convicted of inciting an insurrection. That was always the weak point.
