I don't think there's any substantial evidence that taking melatonin supplements will reduce your body's natural production, it's more likely that our modern society of staring at screens all day every day is simply suppressing it.

Personally I take a few things: fish oil, a multivitamin, a 5000 IU vitamin D3 supplement because I never see the sun, and I alternate days of taking DMAE and Centrophenoxine a couple hours before bedtime because they support neurotransmitter production and make my dreams more interesting.
