Well hello there Red Lobster.

It was a very strange experience. Hes been hyping this place up like crazy for weeks now. Im completely clueless when it comes to Kava and Kratom which is what they sold there.

I tried what they called a shell which was apparently Kava served in a coconut shell. It was extremely cold, but it tasted like dirt water. I didnt try any of the other stuff and elected for a regular water after that, but my buddy was doing shells left and right as well as having a couple of their kratom teas.

The place was pretty crowded, but it had a very weird vibe to it. Felt like I was in the new age of hippy lifestyle or something if that makes sense. Everyone seemed pretty carefree and they all seemed to know one another.

Not even sure why I made this topic. Anyone else ever go to one of these places or goes to one regularly? Felt like I was in some cults clubhouse or something.

Im only going to post once in this topic because I believe it is all I will need to win.

I chose #4. Looks like Im going to have to go all in on being a power lifter to offset, in even the tiniest fashion, my new 30,000 calorie a day diet.

I worked for Red Lobster for over 20yrs. I can promise you Endless Shrimp, a promotion we ran for every single year I was part of the company, didnt do them in. We lost more money in the one year we ran All you can eat Crab legs than Red Lobster lost last quarter from Endless Shrimp (which is what theyre focusing the majority of the blame on).

What did them in was the sale from Darden to Golden Gate Capital who after acquiring the brand immediately sold all the properties that Red Lobster owned (to another company they had holdings in) and forced the stores to now lease back the buildings and property many locations (over 700 at the time of the sale) had owned and paid no lease on for years.

The last store I was in for instance went from having no lease to paying just over $20,000 a month for their building.

Couple in the rising cost of seafood and it made it much tougher to keep it in the black. More failed attempts to right the ship (like a complete menu overall that expanded the menu to add items like pork chops, burgers, pizzas, etc. in an attempt to draw in non seafood lovers) added to the food costs. Waste rose as a result. A few years later Covid came along and drove a stake through the heart of the business.

Theyve been bleeding out since. Less foot traffic (which the latest Endless Shrimp change to being a full time menu selection was supposed to fix) and the sale to Thai Union Group (whom RL was already purchasing the majority of their seafood from) furthered and sped up the demise as Thai Union, for all their success in being a seafood distributor, have no idea how to operate a restaurant. Certainly not in the States at that.

The latest closing of restaurants and the filing for bankruptcy wont save the business, its only delaying its demise. The best outlook for the brand is they significantly downsize even more (perhaps down to less than 100 locations, they still have over 500) and reduce their menu down to what they offered at the height of their success.

Then hope and pray a company who is experienced in running restaurants takes over and really pours their heart and soul into saving a once iconic brand.

Yes I would and I wouldnt change anything about the place.

Definitely buy Slay the Spire and if youre buying it on PC you also need to download the Downfall mod that gives you new cards, relics, adds a 5th character as well as the ability to defend the Spire by playing as the bosses and certain elites.

I feel like Stallone and Schwarzenegger would be locks at this point, but who would the other two actors be?

One friend of mine said his would be the two above along with Vin Diesel and Jason Statham. Another said Jean Claude Van Damme and Bruce Willis. Someone else said Clint Eastwood in our chat with The Rock and Keanu Reeves being mentioned as well.

Im not saying any of those are wrong or bad choices, but none of them were mine.

My Mt. Rushmore of action stars would be Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Tom Cruise & Jackie Chan.

The answer though is I was just suggestion no manmade machine noise and talking. Animals and nature would still contribute their normal sounds.

It is interesting though to consider not just no manmade machine or talking noise, but to consider a world where there was completely no sound from any source. Hell, even if that happened for 1 second I think it would drive some people criminally insane.

For 5 seconds. I understand logistics suggest this would be a certain impossibility. Not only that, but for no one to sneeze or cough in that short time span is just impossible.

Let's not let that ruin it though. Instead let's pretend that somehow we as a species were able to coordinate such an event which would occur with no issues impeding it's success and we were able to create complete silence across the entire planet for 5 seconds.

Do you think that would effect the world in anyway? If so, how? Would it freak animals out? Would the silence be deafening and piercing? I feel like life would be different afterward. We'd become celestial beings of supreme knowledge, able to manifest the solution to any problem and to evaporate any and all dangers or threats to our way of life.

If they want us to bomb, we should bomb.
