His hands are tied in terms of the fines. He's levying the highest fine he's allowed to by law

The judge should then levy a much higher fine than the law allows and claim judges should have total immunity from consequences on unlawful fines because otherwise judges would forever be afraid to pass large sentences.

I think future trials need to warn Trump ahead of time that violating gag orders won't be fines, but will be jail time. He knows the consequences, he's paid for them.

He stops once the threat of jail time comes up.

Unless getting himself tossed behind bars for a couple days and milking it to his base is his goal.

I havent followed closely enough the actions being taken by the protesters, but if theyve been nonviolent then the actions taken against them are clearly in the wrong.

Havent been nodded in awhile and my moderations are relatively few for an over 20 year account. Ive been warned a few times over the years for stepping over the line expressing my disgust of others trolling. And one time I mass bumped a troll thread on a slow game board with dozens of posts that I instantly deleted just to mess with the trolls in the thread. Only time I ever did something like that.

I make one exception people sometimes blast me for but I think my reasoning is sound. My Governor despite being a Republican takes all the left leaning positions I care about. Committed to protecting abortion rights and lgbt rights. Supports reasonable gun restrictions. And I approve of how he handled guiding the state through the Pandemic. But if that is not enough reason theres also the possibility if he werent governor hed consider running for the Senate and hes popular enough to have a shot. And I think its better to have him here where his left leaning stances do some good for the state than mucking up the numbers in congress.

Biden doesnt control the police. Meanwhile Trump actually had protesters gassed so he could cross the street for a photo op (which he blew by holding a bible upside down).

Im now reading theres a hearing Thursday on gag order violations. Thought that was Wednesday. Did it just get moved or are we having 2 hearings on it this week?

Worked 20-25 hours a week because there was less to do, collected some nice unemployment checks, learned how to solve a rubric cube and cut my own hair (which I still do), and generally enjoyed the extra time I had to myself.

Im sure all the posters who lost access before the rules got defined (because punishing over undefined rules obviously isnt stupid at all) appreciate that its officially posted now.

I am not either. There are exceptions. But when you look on news, see how people respond to even mere video game news with death threats, and even go outside because I see a bunch of people at each others throats all the time, there is a precedent here.

Indifferent. To me theyre just a source of occasional good deals on used games. Wouldnt be a big loss but Ill still pop in now and then as long as theyre still around. And they have stuck around through many years of predictions that they were going away.

Thats who blocked as I said earlier during a rampage where he blocked everyone who disagreed with him. I dont remember the context but I know it was basically people telling him to calm down and he was just like you get blocked too.

One guy from the old politics board blocked me during a rampage where he was just blocking everyone who disagreed. I called him out saying if youre gonna block people for stupid reasons please block me and he did. Then theres one person on a gaming board I feel blocked me over a misunderstanding because I thought my posts arguing with his posts were reasonable while the guy engages endlessly with bad faith posters. Im a bit irritated by that one as I feel it was unjustified and I did find some value conversing/debating with this individual.

The topic that started it all was the opposite. It said Biden Palestine policy may cost him the election.
No one made a topic saying "vote Biden!". People made a topic saying Biden is making people not vote for him and it became a hot debate. As you can see in this topic the one who started it wants to say Biden is to blame for them not voting Biden and Trump winning though I think they might be Trumper anyways and this not honest.

My comment was more general than this particular topic. Any discussion on voting always leads to the same comments of if you dont vote my way and my candidate loses its your fault.

I understand the arguments for voting blue no matter what because the alternative is just so abhorrent and I absolutely do so myself, but Ive always hated these kind of arguments on message boards. Your vote is wholly and entirely yours whether you use it on one party or the other or not at all. The pressure people put on each other to vote the way I want you to is disgusting to me. Ill vote for Biden for MY reasons and not because a bunch of faceless board users think they have any business telling me what to do with MY vote.

Hopefully hes waiting to see what Trump does next. If he sticks to the gag order fine him the $10k. If he violates it one more time then at the end of proceedings on Friday lock him up through the weekend until the trial resumes Monday.

Even though Trump will probably be fined again on the contempt charge hearing tomorrow, I do expect the judge to scold him harshly and Trump will have to listen to every word of it. He deserves to be locked up, but if hes fuming about being told off, its something.

I'd be so happy if he just locked him up until the trial resumes Thursday. Make him miss his day off to campaign. That might deter additional violations.

I hear that. My family delayed a Christmas gathering until February over one aunt and uncle who made everyone adapt to their needs. In the end it happened when I was working so I couldnt go and they didnt even end up going.

Im fairly indifferent but I think because they dont set a clear definition they take it too far.

Theyre free where I live but I dont know what they cost at the local shops though.

Joking aside Ive been cutting my own hair since Covid temporarily closed down the shops. Once I discovered I could do it myself I never went back to paying.
