I don't think he knew about the people dying, but the topic was about how the arsonist was sentenced to death.

when I was a kid, I was watching this TV movie about a woman sent to prison.

there was this scene of a woman being stabbed to death in the showers, and the image of the blood mixed with the water made me feel sick.

I googled it, and I'm getting some Insta Cart results, so maybe try that.

I haven't seen KotFM or Silence, but The Irishman was pretty meh, with goofy, unnecessary de-aging effects.

my parents are from east Africa, and both have a Catholic background.

but my dad told me he only really became Catholic because they were the ones who offered good schooling, and people in our ethnic group were being denied education at the time.

I'm not sure if he had negative feelings towards the church, or just religion in general, because my siblings and I grew up in a home with basically no religion.

I didn't learn anything about Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, etc. until I got older, and that was mostly from media.

when I asked my dad about it, he told me he wanted us to decide for ourselves.

my mom was more religious, though, and after my dad died, she tried to introduce more religious stuff into the home, but I feel like it was more for her than for us.

anyway, I think that through past experiences, I would consider myself to be an agnostic theist.

like, I believe that there's something out there, but as to what it might is, what it might want, etc., I dunno.

yea, I slightly preferred the second, but that makes sense; like, the series has already been recognized for what it offered so maybe each installment doesn't need to be awarded.

yea, it's one of my favorite games, but the PS4 unfortunately had a lot of technical issues.

but I thought it was really strong despite all of that.

I haven't seen Boy and the Heron, but I thought that Across the Spider-Verse was a great movie.

I'm not saying it deserved the win, but in fairness to Moore, he was closely attached to the movie, and has likely been met with almost all positive reinforcement, so it makes sense he feels that way.

yea, I was just spit balling with the class thing.

my main thing is just that idk if punishing people who might not exactly know why they're being punished might not help with the issue, and we might need something more proactive.

I'm not a child psychologist or teacher, though, so idk.

true, but unfortunately, we also have adults doing stuff like this, who either don't see anything wrong with it or don't care.

at least, with a class, you might be able to reach more young people.

even if you don't appeal to their empathy, you can at least have them know what's to come if they create images/videos like this.

I feel like this can be a nuanced issue, when it comes to kids.

like, it's wrong, but they might not know how much of a violation of privacy it can be because the images "aren't real". plus, they grew up in this digital space, which might make them feel like it's not affecting anyone.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be disciplined, or that they should get away with it because "they're just kids", but there are some things they're still learning that we might take for granted as adults.

I do agree that they should be removed from the victims, by maybe transferring, but they should also have to take some kind of sensitivity training/workshop. I actually think a course like that should be taught so people won't be able to get off on ignorance in the future.
